| Ya know who I've decided is a real class act?
Geraldine Ferraro. I was young and not watching politics when she ran, so I don't recall much about that election cycle. I just know that I've been very impressed with her when I've seen her being interviewed in recent years, and the interview I just now heard was very impressive. She said Palin's mentioning of her today was the first time anyone has ever referred to her as having been one of the first to crack the glass ceiling. She said she just pulled over her car when she heard that line because she was caught completely off guard and very touched. When asked if Hillary had ever mentioned her in that way, she said that no, not publically. I found that to be very interesting. While obviously she's left and I'm right, she doesn't seem to let partisanship cloud her opinions of people as *people*. That's refreshing. |

I agree with what you posted. She has class and I have seen her interviewed on tv many times also. And I did hear Sarah comment about her and Hillary. It's true that Geraline Ferraro is not mentioned much but that was an historical event no matter how it turned out.

Interesting, Danny. I assume that Ferraro did have a good point, just as people are saying today that Palin wouldn't be in the slot she's in today but for her gender. I'm terribly impressed with what I'm seeing so far in her and it sounds like regardless of gender, on her merits she could probably stand alone but for the experience factor. Given that issue, it's almost a certainty that her gender is what put her over the top with McCain. I don't think it's far-reaching to believe that Obama's race was a plus for him with his base.

I agree completely. I don't believe either if them would be in the running if it weren't for P's gender, and O's race. And I'm glad Geraldine Ferarro is again being referred to as history-making. She truly was.
