Do you vote in your state primary/caucus?

This is the first year that we are planning on voting in the state primary,
VA primary is Feb.12
Always have voted in the general election but never in the primary. It does seem more important this year than in the past.

Wouldn't miss it. Still not sure who's getting my vote yet.

Edited to add. We are thinking about voting absentee. That seems to be the ony way to get a paper trail in this state now.

New Hampshire recount so far has pointed out some errors. At least there is a paper trail that can be looked out. Every vote should be counted excatly as how the person voted. Most people expect the banks not to make an error on your account..we should expect the same on votes.

AlterNet: Democracy and Elections: NH Recount Finds Vote Count Errors
"Ironically, in New Hampshire the problems of electronic voting can be seen and tracked because there is a paper audit trail. In the upcoming South Carolina primary, where the state uses paperless electronic voting systems, there will be no independent audit trail to verify the vote."

Our state has all mail in ballots so there is a paper trail. I do have a good bit of suspicion about the diebold machines and how easy it is to manipulate them. Its interesting to see the miscounts in New Hampshire although apparently nothing has been discovered that will significantly change the outcome. IMO we should do away with all systems that don't have a paper trail. I also think that the Presidential ballot should be separate from all other races and ballot measures and the votes for president should be counted separately. I believe to this day the current administration "lost" in 2000 and 2004.

I think voting fraud is a greater threat to this country than any other, including the possibility of terrorist attacks. Being able to vote and have the vote counted is the cornerstone of our country.

I just checked with my county board of elections and you need a valid excuse for voting absentee. Unfortunately for me, the excuse of "I don't trust your lying asses to run a fair election" was not a valid excuse. But you can vote absentee if you have religious reasons???? Go figure.

We have paperless voting here too. You're not the only one who doesn't trust Diebold.

I tried to get an absentee ballot in 2004 but didn't have a good reason.

I forgot to add, that although I can't vote absentee, all polling places should have paper ballots available. You just have to ask. Now if I get to the polls and that proves to be untrue, then I am going to be really really annoyed.
