Delegate counts

Democrats:

Clinton: 811
Obama: 720
Edwards: 26

Republicans:

McCain: 616
Romney: 269
Huckabee: 170
Paul: 16

All Democratic delegrates are proportionally chosen. The Republicans leave it up to the states. Some are proportionaly chosens; some are winner take all.

The Democratic race is not yet over. It looks like McCain will be the GOP's nominee.

While McCain is favored it certainly is not over with. No one has dropped out yet.

One thing is for sure..if something major happens in the world...economically, etc. it could change the race.

Are those final counts for the dems -- I keep hearing the numbers are changing depending on who's doing the counting. Also, heard on the news late in the day yesterday that "thousands" dropped off mail in ballots in California and they likely wouldn't be counted till late in the day today. Thinking that the dems won't have a candidate until May or even until the convention. I like the fact that the dems split the state delegates rather then awarding all to the winner but I'm concerned about the super delegates and what they'll do at the convention if it comes down to it. Also, what happens to the Michigan and Florida delegates. Senator Obama wasn't even on the ballot in Michigan.

No, that's not a final count. I don't know that the delegates from Mi. and Fl. even get to go the convention but, they will not get a vote. Clinton is trying to get the delegates from Fl. seated but I do not think that she will be successful.

Romney is taking the day off. I imagine we'll get an anouncement in the next couple of days. It makes no sense for him to continue with these numbers.

They (CNN I think) were talking about the mail in ballots the other day. They said about 18% of Democrats in Ca. use these. And that Women and older people were more likely to use mail ins. It will be interesting to see if Hillary's lead is increased since Women and older Americans are supposedly 2 of her strong points.

Interesting to see the different counts people are coming up with. Last I saw PLEDGED and committed delegates Barack is ahead of Hillary by 4.

It seems Michigan and Florida should not count since this was decided months ago. I like both the candidates but slightly prefer Hillary but I dont want them to change the rules about the Michigan and Florida delegates. That would be wrong.
