Details of Obama's Plans? Part Deux

IrishBlonde said:

"Foreplay is a part of sexual relations. He just has his own wording and defination what "sexual relations" is . I think it was his way to get around the subject. And not lie. We all know he lied. I can't and will not support a man or woman who thinks this way. When I had to explain to my children at the time what oral sex was , I had enough, It was all over the news, day and night.

I think the US is ready for a female president, but not Hillary.

Sorry if the past few posts are off track of the original post."

************

And I'm sorry to carry this into a new thread but I wanted to post the following and the thread was locked:

I'm not defending President Clinton but I find it hypocritical for those in congress who "judged" him a good number of whom were doing or had done the exact same thing. As for parents being embarrassed to explain oral sex to their children remember it was the holier then thou Ken Starr who "wrote" the report. IMO, there was no there there but for $50 million a product needed to be produced and it came in the form of an X-rated report to congress.

From the Washington Monthly:

"... But the most notorious of them all is undoubtedly Gingrich, who ran for Congress in 1978 on the slogan, "Let Our Family Represent Your Family." (He was reportedly cheating on his first wife at the time). In 1995, an alleged mistress from that period, Anne Manning, told Vanity Fair's Gail Sheehy: "We had oral sex. He prefers that modus operandi because then he can say, 'I never slept with her.'" Gingrich obtained his first divorce in 1981, after forcing his wife, who had helped put him through graduate school, to haggle over the terms while in the hospital, as she recovered from uterine cancer surgery. In 1999, he was disgraced again, having been caught in an affair with a 33-year-old congressional aide while spearheading the impeachment proceedings against President Clinton."
"High Infidelity" by Steve Benen

Again, I'm not excusing President Clinton but I despise hypocrits even more then liars.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT ADULTERY/FORNICATION? 1. Exodus 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery. Exodus 20:13-15 (in Context) Exodus 20 (Whole Chapter) 2. Leviticus 20:10 And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. Leviticus 20:9-11 (in Context) Leviticus 20 (Whole Chapter) 3. Deuteronomy 5:18 Neither shalt thou commit adultery. Deuteronomy 5:17-19 (in Context) Deuteronomy 5 (Whole Chapter) 4. Proverbs 6:32 But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul. Proverbs 6:31-33 (in Context) Proverbs 6 (Whole Chapter) 5. Jeremiah 3:8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also. Jeremiah 3:7-9 (in Context) Jeremiah 3 (Whole Chapter) 6. Jeremiah 3:9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks. Jeremiah 3:8-10 (in Context) Jeremiah 3 (Whole Chapter) 7. Jeremiah 5:7 How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses. Jeremiah 5:6-8 (in Context) Jeremiah 5 (Whole Chapter) 8. Jeremiah 7:9 Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not; Jeremiah 7:8-10 (in Context) Jeremiah 7 (Whole Chapter) 9. Well, I would if you hadn't made it all one big run on sentence! No punctuations, no spaces--how are we suppose to read that?

Ana, I understand where you are coming from, but when it was thrown in our face about what when on in the Oval office, I didn't feel it was the time to explain to my children then, ages 4-13 what oral sex was. I wanted to do it on MY time and my own way.

I feel OUR government officials are all hypocrits. It doesn't make anything right. We will never get the truth from anyone. It's all in what and who you believe. And what they are willing tosay to make you believe.

I am not sure who I will vote for this election. I need more information from all the candidates.

I closed that last thread. It should have been closed 25 posts ago. I am glad that you reopened a new one. Thanks

Clinton Impeachment
"Independent Counsel Starr submitted a detailed report to the Congress in which he contended that there was "substantial and credible information that President William Jefferson Clinton committed acts that may constitute grounds for an impeachment" by lying under oath in the Jones litigation and obstructing justice by urging Ms. Lewinsky "... to to file an affidavit that the President knew would be false"

It was that Clinton apparently lied under oath ..it does not matter what he lied about ..it was that they thought they had proof that he lied under oath.

I think that if you lie often enough, you start to believe your own lies. Neither Bush nor Cheney will testify under oath.

What a waste of time the whole Ken Starr investigation was.

I don't disagree that there are a number of government officials who are hypocrits but I certainly don't think they all are. I have great respect for a number of them on both sides of the aisle. Sadly, I truly believe that a goal of some in the present administration is to foster the mistrust of government. Flaunting laws and lying is part of the plan and it appears to be working.

As an aside you must have a very precocious youngster if he or she was asking questions about the Starr report at the age of 4.

Why were you letting a four year old watch the news, anyway? When my kids were 13, I couldn't have paid them to watch the evening news . . .

When Clinton's indiscretion was uncovered, why did the GOP feel compelled to share this information with not just the American public but the whole world?

Democrats knew about Bush 41's affair and didn't share the info.

Not answering for the other poster, but, my kids all watch the news. We watch it as a family, and discuss it.

You would have a four year old watching the news? That seems rather . . . unusual to me.

Yes, we've had a four year old watching the news. It's usually on while we're eating dinner, which is when we all sit down together and catch up with each other's day.

You might want to be careful, someone might accuse you of judging someone. As far as I'm concerned, judge all you want, find it unusual all you want, you don't know me or my family. The news can be used as a wonderful tool to expose your children (and yourself) to lots of different things, and really start some wonderful discussions.

My kids have always watched the news. For the past couple of years we do not have "tv service", so we watch and read the news online. Kids also hear parents discussing the news.
I agree it can be a very useful tool for learning.

yes, we have had our kids watching the news with us for a long time. It's a useful teaching tool--on various things. It opens up a lot of discussions of varied topics

It seems to me that if you don't want to "have" to teach your four year old what a BJ is, you might want to not permit him or her to watch shows that would expose the child to news regarding them. Of course, how much was actually on the news about that during the Clinton years, I've forgotten (gosh, I just don't remember Tom Brokaw ever telling the world that Monica gave Bill one, for example), but a lot of Republicans seem to like to complain that it's all because of Clinton that they had to teach their children what a BJ is.

To each his own, but there are other things on the news that have nothing to do with Bill Clinton's private parts that I would never dream of exposing a four year old to.

My kids have always watched the news. Lets just say , your kids and mine are different, and we will leave it at that.

I am not going to judge your kids for not watching so don't judge mine for watching.

I'm going to guess that it is because SHE mentioned the subject you referenced. Good grief people, I like a good argument as much as the next one, but, come on. I'd like to see some real discussion on the issues and the candidates. Who CARES if someone lets their kids watch the news, there ARE worse things in this world.

Seems to me that you're the one continuing the discussion. If you're bored with it, ignore the thread or don't respond.

ITA, makes a good talking point though and what better way to slam the other side then to bring up the impact on the sippy cup crowd.

Remember the uproar about kids being exposed to Janet Jackson's "nip" during the Super Bowl. A republican congresswoman sobbed in the well of the House about how terrible it was that children were exposed to such sights.

There are things on the news every night that make me cringe.

Oh me too! I often listen to the news rather than actually watching it. I can listen to horrible things, I can read horrible things but there are some things I just can't watch.
