Has anyone donated to any campaign?

Either time or money? Just curious?

I donated money today, but have no idea what I could do as far as donating time, except use my big mouth for what it's best at. I talk to friends and relatives and we always have lively political discussions, but that's about it.

DH and I have donated money twice to the Ron Paul campaign..during "money bombs"
We paid for 3 local newspaper ads and also wrote a letter to the editor.
We live in a rural area so not much else we could think of to do.

How did you do the newspaper ad, does the campaign give you something to put in and you just pay for it? And if you don't mind me asking was it very expensive?

We got the ads from the grassroots forum for Ron Paul. The ads were not from the actual campaign.
Our local newspaper is small town, so the cost of a more major newspaper is higher. We paid $435 for a half page ad. The other ad was a quarter page for 2 days was $197.

A good place to start is to call your Democratic or Republican party headquarters in your town, (should be a listing in the phone book) Someone there might have information. Some even keep flyers and signs from the different campaigns to give out.

You might want to check and see if there are any local meet-up groups in your area.

There is one towns away from us but we joined and email ideas back and forth.

google search ...Maybe your candidate has a grassroots forum..they usually have lots of info.

I've donated to Obama's campaign and, assuming he gets the nomination, will likely volunteer at the local headquarters.

To Huckabee's campaign because his values and concerns are most in line with my own.
