OK, Maybe McCain not so bad after all.

The good Pastor Hagee says mcCain not bad, so maybe it's true?

I knew about McCain and Hagee, but I did not know about Obama refusing to accept the endorsement of Louis Farrakhan. Obama has just gone WAY up on my respect scale. These are the things I need to know about before I vote. I wonder why I never heard anything about that in the news?

That took a lot of Balls!

Now if McCain could grow a pair...

The issue was addressed at the last debate. I guess I can't say how much coverage it got afterwards, since I was aware of it from watching the debate and didn't really pay attention afterwards. In fact, Clinton made a fool of herself, IMO, because she wanted Obama to not only "denounce" Farrakhan, but "reject" him as well.

Senator McCain shared a stage with Rev. Hagee and accepted and thanked him for his support.

McCain actually solicited the support of Hagee, according to what I've read.

I don't understand McCain. If there's any natural constituency for him, with his rabid anti-choice stance, it ought to be Catholics, and yet he actively embraces this Catholic hater? That makes no sense at all.

I almost choked on my coffee!

Isn't it great to live in a country where you can waste the Government's time by reporting idiotic "threats".

Lighten up - 'mama ---- thanks for the chuckle!

Oooh, I'm so scared.

I think when you report me, you might want to remember to capitalize American. I hear the FBI gets really pissy about that kind of anti-American spelling.

I think this is romper room instead of a message board....so childish.....Anyway...Doesnt any one care about what Michelle Obama's says.....Her comments about this being the first time she is proud to be an American??? Or what about her saying that Americans are just down right mean??? With a potential first lady like that...we dont need any enemies...I think she is a racist against whites. (re: her thesis). Her quote from the New Yorker

"We're a divided country, we're a country that is "just downright mean," we are "guided by fear," we're a nation of cynics, sloths, and complacents.

"You're looking at a young couple that's just a few years out of debt," Obama said. "See, because, we went to those good schools, and we didn't have trust funds. I'm still waiting for Barack's trust fund. Especially after I heard that Dick Cheney was s'posed to be a relative or something. Give us something here!"

Give HER something???? Their reported income in 2005 was 1.67 million????? She reportedly makes over 300,000

Then she goes on to say" "The life that I'm talking about that most people are living has gotten progressively worse since I was a little girl. . . . So if you want to pretend like there was some point over the last couple of decades when your lives were easy, I want to meet you!"

It doesnt sound like her life has gotten any worse......I think the woman is deluded. I guess people had it easy during the great depression....Just ask my grandfather when he was alive..times were BAD>>>> Granted there are people who have it rough I am not saying that but her comments are really out there...Nobody lives as rough as back a few hundred years ago....it might be fun to see between Clinton and Obama whose spouse does the most damage!!! Sherri

Do you have sites for any of these quotes -- some context would be nice.

BTW, it was Mrs. Cheney who said in researching Mr. Cheney's family tree they found he was related to Senator Obama. I'm sure it was a shock to the Senator.

Thanks for the link to her thesis. I admit I read it quickly but I don't see the racism mentioned by another poster. I see a fairly well researched paper done a little over 20 years after the civil rights act of 1964 and less then 20 years after MLK was killed. She sounded thoughtful and aware of her own possible propensity to see racism where it may or may not have existed. I'm sure it contains thoughts that one could take offense at if predisposed to do so but none that jumped out at me.

First of all, I have to admit I only got as far as the first section - It is well written but the thing that stood out was a statement on page 12 "presently blacks comprise only about 10% of total enrollment".

I did a little research and I could not find much on the census for 1980 or 1990 which are closer to the date the paper was written, so I took info from the 2000 census.
The US nationality break down at that time was
75% White
12% African American
12% Hispanic
3.6% Asian
info link

The Breakdown for Princeton Students 2007 (the only nationality break-down I could find)
69% White
9% African American
14% Asian American or Pacific Islander
8% Hispanic American
info link (under Student snapshot)

It seems as though the African American population going to Princeton is a pretty fairly represented as far as keeping in tune with the national average across the board. Quite frankly it looks like the Hispanic populations are the ones not fairly represented.

I wish she would have left the word ONLY out of the sentence.

When I get more time, I'm going to finish reading the thesis and of course I may have more thoughts to contribute.

I read that to mean that she was aware that some of her conclusions might be skewed because of the low enrollment not necessarily as a complaint about the number of black students.

No to be fair, you should post Bill's thesis since both he and Michelle are spouses of the candidates.

Personally I see nothing wrong with either Michelles or Hillarys theses. They both were thoughtful, intelligent young women and their ideas at 20 yrs. of age or so have helped to make them the strong, thoughtful. intelligent women they are today.

I have not found a listing of a thesis written by Bill Clinton or Obama.
Myself, I do not find these women strong, rather I prefer the term forceful. There is a difference in my opinion.
