Unhappy Chelsea Clinton asked about Monica Lewinsky

How embarrassing, I don't care what anyone's reasons were for even asking her this question it was rude!! Why would anyone question her? Why don't they question Bill or Hillary? I think someone just wanted to get a reaction and get noticed

I am just amazed at how well Chelsea seems to have turned out. She's seems to be a very smart, vibrant, self-assured woman. And...she really grew into her looks! She went through a particularly awkward stage while her Dad was President.

I think she handled the question extremely well and with an astonishing amount of grace.

Totally inappropriate. People are scum. You don't involve someone's child, adult or not, in this. Makes me angry. And it has nothing to do with anything other than behaving properly and showing some respect.

Wow - I can't believe that someone would have the audacity to ask her that.

She showed total class!!!
I agree that it was rude/tastless to ask. Did they really think she was goign to state her "real" feelings about the situation.
Chelsea for President!!!!

I thought she handled the situation very well.

Brian Williams in the intro of the video, said she doesn't take questions from the media to avoid such questions. I personally don't think she should ever be ever asked to comment on that topic, whether it is from the media or a college student.

The question was not about Lewinsky, it was about her mother's credibility because of the way she lied or mislead during the Lewinsky scandal and Chelsea should have answered it. Her mother's credibility is definitely highly questionable and being afraid to step up and respond to questions about it doesn't reflect well on Chelsea or her mother. There was nothing wrong with the question. It was not about the private matter of a husband cheating, it was about how her mother responded publicly and a reasonable question. If the Clintons didn't think that Chelsea was going to get a similar question, then they're bigger fools than I took them for.

Moreover, the Clintons are the ones that chose to involve their nearly 30 year old daughter in the campaign. When they made that choice, they put her in line for that kind of question. I see nothing wrong with Chelsea getting the same kinds of question her mother or father would have to answer. They're the ones that chose to put her in the spotlight.

ITA. A month or so ago an MSNBC reporter was suspended for 2 weeks for saying something to the effect that the Clinton's were "pimping" out their daughter. I thought it was a very poor choice of words on his part but ... at the time a university student and a "voting superdelegate" to the convention was offered breakfast with Chelsea if he endorsed her mother. The Clintons not only asked for an apology which they got but also wanted him fired and threatened to withdraw from a scheduled debate on MSNBC.

I think Chelsea is a lovely young woman but she is a grown up now and has chosen to enter the fray. She and her parents need to buck up and forget the faux outrage.

I disagree. She started off with "ask me anything" and then she chastised the questioner for asking a valid question about her mother's credibility. If she's going to campaign for her mother, she's going to have to answer some tough questions.

She answered the question. She just didn't answer it the way some people wanted her to answer it!

She said "It's none of your business!"

Shouldn't you be the ProudUSAMama and traditionally taking care of your bambino? A traditional woman wouldn't be sitting here worrying about politics she would leave it up to the man of the house. A woman should be seen and not heard?? Wouldn't that be the good old traditional way? A traditional man would never allow such outspoken ways of his woman.

If you cant take the heat.....get out of the Kitchen...she knew as soon as she hit the road she would be asked questions like that....Now I believe they are tasteless...but dont say "Ask me anything" and then refuse to answer...sounds like a typical politician in the making...Sherri
