Thumbs up She's finally throwing in the towel

She was tough, but has finally realized it's time to go. Like Jim Carrey said in The Truman Show, "In case I don't see you again, good afternoon, good evening and good night."

Ben Smith's Blog: Clinton camp converging on New York Tuesday, and shedding staff - Politico.com

Quote:
Members of Hillary Clinton's advance staff received calls and emails this evening from headquarters summoning them to New York City Tuesday night, and telling them their roles on the campaign are ending, two Clinton staffers tell my colleague Amie Parnes.

The advance staffers — most of them now in Puerto Rico, South Dakota, and Montana — are being given the options of going to New York for a final day Tuesday, or going home, the aides said. The move is a sign that the campaign is beginning to shed — at least — some of its staff. The advance staff is responsible for arranging the candidate's events around the country.

well, apparently even though the AP is insisting that the story is correct, she's not going to afterall. She's going to drag it out 2 more months (months we could be spending campaigning as a party) until the convention.

well since the last two primaries are today---maybe we'll have some sort of resolution.
For the record-I disagree w/ the whole electoral college votes/delegate/super delegate--the winner of the election (any election) should be by popular votes. It's disenchanting and disheartening to think that regardless of who I vote for--the delegates/super delegates could choose to go their own way and support someone who has not won the popular vote. REGARDLESS of which candidate we're talking about.

I agree whole-heartedly. Why are we constantly told that "every vote counts" in the U.S.? Only in local elections does that seem to ring true - not for national campaigns.

I also feel this campaign went on WAY too long - I don't think anything positive came of the dragging out of an election campaign.

I think I understand and even agree to a certain extent that the popular vote should be the deciding factor. For some reason though, the democrats can't even agree this time around on which votes get counted. I don't think some of the caucus states count the "popular" votes and throw in the confusion about Florida and Michigan and we have a mess this time around. Senator Clinton claims a lead in the popular vote by counting both Florida and Michigan and as I'm sure you know Senator Obama's name wasn't even on the Michigan ballot. Senator Clinton said Michigan votes should not count at least once until it was determined that in order to claim a lead in the popular vote she had to have them counted. With Michigan and Florida being counted she leads by 100,000, without he leads by 500,000.

IMO, its a mess and there are hurt feelings on both sides of the fence which will take a while to heal. Throw in the first woman v the first African American and it just compounds the possibility for hurt.

Ya know, I wish the media would shut up and let this process wind down.
The woman can't sneeze without them speculating and sensationalizing something.

She'll concede when she concedes. This back and forth is making my head spin.
