What Happened to the thread about the latest Obama thread?

Why was it locked? I still have questions about when it is and isn't ok to quote someone's later-deleted words. And now I can't edit my own posts, that power's been taken away far short of the usual 50-posts-and-its-locked time.

I was hoping dnj51 could explain what was uncalled for and who implied deleting my post was to protect a racist in the post on 7/5/08 at 11:56am when she wrote "That is totally uncalled for! The content of the post has nothing to do with why your post was removed. And to even IMPLY I did it to protect a racist is insulting." http://www.mycoupons.com/boards/elec...ml#post3014456

If your error was in re-posting a post that was deleted, then it sounds like the content of the post is exactly why your post was removed.

I'm terribly confused.

Can you see who implied anyone was protecting a racist? Subconscious guilt perhaps?

I was not going to reply because I don't want to get pulled into your little game, but...

"someone" implied the post was removed to protect racists then "someone" requested I take the quote out of my reply, which I did.

truble - the post was closed only because it had gone so far off topic and the original question had been answered.

How unfortunate we can't read your thoughts in context now ........

Oh. I don't recall seeing a thread closed for that reason before.

I thought there was a rather worthwhile continuing discussion going on.

so are we not allowed to go off topic anymore and will this also apply to all the other boards on MC? Will the terms of service we agreed to when we signed up be changed to reflect this new rule?
