FISA bill Obama

The vote on the FISA bill was postponed today. Suppose to be voted on in the Senate tomorrow the 9th.

A lot of Obama supporters are upset with the apparent turn of face from Obama who now will probably vote for this bill. From Obama's DC office..." Obama would vote for the Dodd-Feingold Amendment stripping the legislation of "telecom immunity" but that if the amendment did not pass, than Senator Obama would vote for the FISA Amendment Act "

These articles are written by Obama supporters that not only voted for him but gave him donations and campaigned for him.

Also there is still time to contact your Senators...

"Defeat the FISA warrantless wiretapping Bill ( HR 6034 )URGENT! ACT NOW!

or dial direct
U.S. Senate: Senators Home

The Senate will cast its final vote on warrantless wiretapping late Tuesday or Wednesday. We need to flood Congress with letters and calls demanding a NO vote on the FISA bill.
There are relevant ammendments to the FISA warrantless wiretapping Bill. Ask your Senator to stand for liberty and the law, and vote in favor of the Dodd-Feingold-Leahy Amendment. Dodd-Feingold-Leahy Amendment stops retroactive immunity for telecommunications companies.

Thanks for bringing this up, OP.

I have been reading and seeing on TV where Obama is 'flip-flopping' on other issues, as well, including the war timetable and that a lot of his supporters are getting upset with him.

Today the FISA Amendment Act (HR 6304) was passed.
Final Count:
69 aye
28 no

Listed are a couple of Senators votes. These are the ones that I heard during the roll call of how they voted.

Obama: Aye

No:
Mrs. Clinton
Dodd
Feingold

McCain (not present/or did not vote). I did not hear his name mention either way.

Well, since the man hasn't voted on anything in the Senate since April 8th, I'm not surprised his name wasn't mentioned.

Not voting, on that bill, is preferable to voting for it.

Bush wasted no time in signing this bill...less than 24 hours after the Democrat controlled Senate passed it.
