The Republican Convention

Do you think that McCain's not attending the convention was a good idea or not? I realize that it would be difficult under any circumstances to compete for news coverage with a hurricane, but, I see no reason for McCain not attend the convention. Now, the convention seems to be getting almost no coverage.

Bush was right to skip it. He has learned that he needs to monitor the situation. But McCain can't really do much other than show support.

I think they just toned down the events for today. I think McCain will attend stuff there later this week
Obama wasn't at the DNC everyday.

Really, I am more interested in the Rally for the Republic that Ron Paul is holding.
The big day for that is tomorrow. 8/31/08 - 9/02/08

I do not know much about what is happening at the republican convention.

But Ron Paul is also in Minneapolis holding his own rally.
Mainly it is to kick-off the new grassroots organization, Campaign for Liberty.

"We are not about one campaign in one year, we are in this for the long haul...
We are going to fight to restore the Republic, to limit the government to its constitutional functions, to reclaim a foreign policy that defends America, and to put a stop to the centrally planned economy that results from the Federal Reserve System."

"We will have a training session for key grassroots activists, a leadership summit to begin laying the groundwork for our long term nationwide activities, and a celebration to mark the gains made by Dr.Paul -- and our cause -- over this past year."

The big day is tommorow full coverage will be on Cspan 2 (also online)

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. Don't show up......get criticized. Show up......get criticized.
