LOL, Thanks, Palin!

Quote:
The Obama campaign confirms to First Read that it has raised $8 million from more than 130,000 donors since Sarah Palin's speech last night -- and that it's on pace to raise a total of $10 million by the time McCain speaks.

"Sarah Palin's attacks have rallied our supporters in ways we never expected," said Obama spokesman Bill Burton. "And we fully expect John McCain's attacks tonight to help us make our grassroots organization even stronger."

*** UPDATE *** The Wall Street Journal, meanwhile, is reporting that the RNC raised $1 million after Palin's speech.
I knew I wasn't the only one inspired to donate by the Palin Pack O'Lies!

I was just coming to post this. Yes seeing what we could get (in the way of a president if Mccain was to expire) inspired me to give to Obama for the first time this morning. I was a Hillary supporter and though I am now for Obama I really hadn't considered contributing to his campaign until last night. Well I did think about it after his speech last week but I hadn't yet. I wonder how many new ex Hillary supporters like me gave for the first time after hearing Palin.

Fear is a great motivator, no? I'd be shaking in my boots if I wanted Obama to win, as well. I wonder what those hail Mary donations will be able to buy.

Gosh, she's got you all atwitter today, truble.

LOL, the maximum is $2,300 and I'm not there and not likely to get there. Not considering the state of the economy after eight years of Bushism.

Interesting how one decides that so many chosen are liars. After having worn out the "you are funny" keys, now it's the "liar/lies" keys. Keep at it and wear them out then maybe you will find something else to do that has positive substance.

Yep..she is pulling in money for the McCain too. Thanks Palin!!

Interest, cash on the rise after Palin selection

Roughly $10 million of the $47 million the campaign raised in August came in after McCain announced her as his running mate on Friday, said Tom Steward, regional communications director for McCain.

In other words, she has done for the McCain campaign in a week what she did for Obama in one day.

That article was written 2 days ago. I have not seen an article yet with donation amounts since last night's speech. I will try and see if an article is out yet.

The OP's link mentioned the RNC had collected $1 million since her speech.

An update from the link says Senator Obama has reached $10 million. His campaign is hoping for a speech-a-day by the Governor!

Thanks..I didn't notice the link in the OP.

Also found this... No real reason for donations to continue to go up for McCain it will not help his funds for this year.

Washington Wire - WSJ.com : RNC Picks Up $1 Million After Palin Speech

"Once McCain accepts the Republican nomination for president tonight, he will no longer be allowed to accept private donations because he as opted to accept $85 million in federal financing for his campaign."

Right -- but the RNC can take it all it wants to spend on the campaign.

True, but I really doubt people will keep sending in their money when it is not needed yet.
The RNC has a lot of money already.

from the article above
" A Republican aide leaked us the news that the Republican National Committee ended the month of August with $75 million in the bank."
