Cindy McCain vs Obama

I'm watching the RNC and I think Cindy McCain has more experience for the Presidency than Mr. Obama. How does everyone else feel?

I am watching her speech and am amazed but I guess not really. She has a voice that would put anyone to sleep. They ought to bottle that stuff and sell it over the counter for insomniacs.

She also said something about her son "I will never forget the day my son strapped on his weapons and boarding that bus for danger" Please, please, they do not get on the bus with their weapons. Do not embellish the story Cindy to make it seem like it was more. My son got on a bus to go to Iraq and he had a uniform but he certainly didn't have any weapons on him and neither did any of his men either time.

First, don't mention bottle and blond Cindy in the same sentence.

Second, don't for goodness sakes confuse the devotees with facts.

Thanks for calling me cute...I think so.

The topic of the post is "Cindy McCain vs Obama". I believe that my post was talking about Cindy McCain. I think I was on topic but to be sure I will say this -

I LOVE TO LISTEN TO OBAMA SPEAK! HE IS AN EXCELLENT ORATOR! HIS SPEECHES CHALLENGE PEOPLE INCLUDING ME TO DO GREAT THINGS IN MY COMMUNITY!

Okay, now the topic, what exactly has Cindy McCain done that we can compare the two candidates since you are so wanting us all to stay on your topic because you do always, don't you?

Somehow this will turn out to be another post by someone who will say something silly like Obama will want Cindy McCain to have an abortion etc......

On topic enough for you?

Seems to have done more than Obama......
She founded and ran a non-profit organization, the American Voluntary Medical Team, from 1988 to 1995 that organized trips by medical personnel to disaster-struck or war-torn third-world areas. She continues to be an active philanthropist and serves on the boards of several charitable organizations.

In 2000, she became chair of the now $300-million-a-year Hensley & Co.[44] following her father's death.[39] She, together with her children and one of John McCain's children from his first marriage, own 68 percent of the company.[45] As chair, her role takes the form of consultations with the company CEO on major initiatives such as new products, new plants, or employee welfare, rather than of an active physical presence;[46][47] she does not have operational control of Hensley, and Anheuser-Busch considers her to be an absentee owner.[12] By 2007, she had an annual income of over $400,000 from Hensley and an estimated net worth of $100 million.[25] She also owned at least $2.7 million worth of shares of Anheuser-Busch stock.[48][12] With her children, she owns a minority stake in the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team.[29]

She became actively involved with Operation Smile in 2001,[49] taking parts in trips with it to Morocco, Vietnam, and India.[49] She was honored by the organization in 2005,[49] and sits on its board of directors.[32] She joined the board of directors of CARE in 2005.[32] She is on the board of the HALO Trust,[32] and has visited operations to remove landmines in Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Mozambique, and Angola.[17] She makes financial contributions to these organizations via her family trust,[18] and views her role on them as watching them in the field and to ensure they are frugal and their money is being spent effectively.[47] On occasion she has criticized foreign regimes on human rights grounds, such as Myanmar's military junta.[50]

I knew exactly what you really meant. I can read between the lines...try it, you might learn something.

In the communities I have lived in, I have held an elected office for 12 years. I have taught religous education for 12 years, my sons and I have served at a soup kitchen every year except the last five years of my 30 year marraige. I have volunteered at headstart, at an long term care facility, I was an assistant coach for a little guy wrestling team for years, I have volunteered in the classroom teaching children to read, I have subbed in the classroom many times, both for pay and for no pay, I give regularly to charity, I have been in CancerCure walks, I am a trained CASA, I do charity things quite a bit of the time to help my community because I believe that to those who much has been given, much is expected. I try to live by that and plan on continuing to do so for the rest of my life..

Your turn.

Sen Obama has inspired me that I can and am making a difference in my community. I know I can do more so I will. But his speaking has given me hope and I would like to have the drive that he has that I can make a difference. His is a message that speaks to me of hope for the future of this country. When he speaks, I hear energy in his voice.

A simple 'nothing' would suffice. Seems like evertything you have listed (all good things!) is BO-before Obama. That's nice you feel encouraged by him. I would hope McCain would encourage you too as he's done so much for his country! Obama is a good speaker, I'll give him that. But I want more than that for the Presidency. But still, is Obamas resume better than Cindys?

You do know that the second paragraph does not really help anyone except herself in that she gets paid to do those things, so I would put those under "Where does Cindy get her money" category.

Your google skills are right up there with your numchuck skills and your computer hacking skills and bow staff skills. (thank you, Napoleon Dynamite)

I could tell you that Obama walked on water and you wouldn't like him so it really doesn't matter, does it.? Some people talk just to hear themselves talk and don't say anything. I imagine that some people who are on the internet do the same thing with the computer....I am pretty sure you are one of those.

It doesn't. You posted it. I was just pointing out how the second paragraph is not charity work C'M is doing. I believe that she is getting paid for all of those things.

Once again, do you read what you post or do you just google and the copy and paste without reading the entire source?

So who said anything about charity work? I'm comparing their EXPERIENCE, whatever types, paid or volunteer. Do you need me to try to explain the thread topic further for you? Just reading about Cindy made me think she is just as qualified, experience wise, as Obama to be the President.

You have got to be kidding me. Here is your original post:

I'm watching the RNC and I think Cindy McCain has more experience for the Presidency than Mr. Obama. What a good woman!

You were watching the RNC and so was I and about the same time, CM was boring some people to death and you posted how she had more experience that OB. I played along and wrote that I didn't like her speech and another sentence about her lie and BAM! Suddenly you want every post on here to be on topic. Which I guess is that CM has more experience than Obama. Simple answer,,,,,,No way, no how.

ETA - Kathytheshopper, your points are very clear here. And I wonder if everyone who is "inspired" by Obama will actually "do" something, or will just "be energized by his voice."

This substance issue is what it's all about, at least for me.

Sure, she can try, but I don't think she can even read - I have read some of her posts (and have come to the conclusion that she doesn't read before she copies and pastes) so I am guessing the dictionary might be a bit too advanced for her.

But she can google it, but then she might have to comprehend what it said and she isn't too good at that either. Wow, maybe if both of you put your heads together, you might be able to come up with a way to look that up.

Of course, this is a test and I am just being sarcastic.

Let me explain it to you just like i explained it to my children when they were little so read it slowly so it will sink in:

When you ask a question, you have to be prepared for the answer. If it is question that has an answer yes or no and I say no, just let it be. You got your answer. Now, if I say yes, you don't ever ask why I said yes, so why should you ask why I said no.

In other words, I gave you my answer. You asked the question and I gave you an answer. No way, no how is CM more experienced than Obama unless we are talking about sexual experience, That I would have no idea except I don't think that Sen Obama ever slept with someone else husband.

Of course, this is a test and I am just being sarcastic.
Once again, nothing of any substance to add to this thread!!!! You keep proving yourself over and over again.......

PPPPPPssssssssst - I was trying to tell you in a delicate way that you goofed...

Try not to correct others when you're misinformed.

Kathy - to get back to your original point, I agree - CM has a great deal more experience. I learned even more about that tonight! This is getting very exciting.

This is so rich. What did you ask in your very first post? It was a yes or a no question and I said no,. But, I did say something else and if you want I can edit it and only put the word "no" for you if that would make you feel better. Don't ask questions if you aren't ready for the answer.

Why, a thank you is in order then. The rest of my post remains the same.. I appreciate the fact that you are so willing to correct another poster on a spelling issue. I don't correct people's spelling because I think it is petty and small on a message board.

Thank you again!

I think the real telling part here is that you challenged Kathy to look up a word that you couldn't spell, but that you were sarcastically insinuating was a word that defined her (at least that's how you came across).

If that wasn't your intent, then my apologies.

If that was your intent, then THAT was petty, and you might as well learn to spell the words you throw around when you're feeling particularly mean-spirited.

If I may, I know how to spell hypocrite, trust me and I even know what it means. This is one of the reasons I don't correct peoples spelling on a message board. If you get in a hurry or don't check your spelling, you get the spelling sherrifs after you. Usually, it is when they don't have a real position or they know that they can't win, they pull out the misspelling card.

Again, I thank you for pointing that out to me. I am sure that while I might sound mean and nasty, you didn't look so hot yourself by pointing out an insignificant misspelled word. But then again, I thank you for taking the time to help me.

And remember, sarcasm is just a test!

So it's not "hot" to correct someone's spelling if they're on a tear berating another person?

And it IS okay for people to sit back and let you badger and belittle the same poster over and over? You're the one being mean. You don't let up.

That is my *real* position. Lighten up.

You know what...read my answer to the original post here. Read it. There was nothing in that post that could even remotely be belittling to any poster. i answered the OP as I read it. The next post has KTS telling me I was off topic "as usual". If you will read another topic where this poster adds a thought that Obama would want the Blessed Mother to have an abortion which changed the entire topic.

She is such a victim and she plays it well. I have every right to post what i want just as she is but if you can't run with the big dogs, sit on the porch. I know that I have answered her posts with as much dignity as I read them and how she posted.

This isn't a joke nor is it a test. I am sarcastic and I use it to make a point, not as an excuse. But, as another poster said about herself being sarcastic....that's just the way I am.

I have reread your posts and all you talked about was how Obama inspired you. That deosn't have anything to do with comparing Cindy McCains accomplishments with Obamas which is what the thread is about. You might want to go sit on the porch with your dogs for awhile and meditate on how the flow of conversation works and what a topic means...And yes, that is being snotty!!

Brother, you don't want me to be snoty again to you, do you? Knock it off. As an aside, a question usually has a ? mark at the end. That is now people know it is a question......there are a few more clues llike trick words as well....like Who, what, where or when. So, when you go talking about me not answering the original question....there wasn't one. You made a statement and so did I. Why didn't you just leave it as it was? I will tell you why....because you are a drama queen and in a minute we all will have to take out our kleenex because you will cry Victim.

I do admire BO and you asked me how he inspired me. Or did you forget that you asked me to tell you how he inspired me. I could've sworn it was you. It was. I felt your post to my post to your unclear post about what I was supposed to be writing about was asking for a quick reply in kind to yours to me. You then asked me how BO inspired me and I told you.

Well the thread topic was listed as Cindy VS Obama. I would think that using the word VS would make someone speculate that the poster wants a comparison between the two. I then pointed out that I was looking at their experiences. I guess for some people I need to be much more simplisitc.
Yes, I did ask you why he inspired you because that was the only thing you could come up with and to me it did not answer the Cindy vs Obama experince topic.
Drama queen? lol I have NEVER been called that EVER! That's a good one! I do have Kleenex around here somewhere, but praise and glory to God, I rarely cry.
So if someone put Bush vs McCain as a topic with I think McCain has more experience than Obama you wouldn't know what to say other than Obama inspires you? Interesting.

I also find it fascinating that after 40 posts no one has refuted by original statement that Cindys resume seems to have more experience on it than Obamas!

Just Curious, who cares how much experience she has? She's NOT running for president so I couldn't care less how much experience she has. Why does it matter so much to you seeing she is NOT running for president? HMMM?

Wow! You guys are kinda scary. Seriously, you all can't find any real issues to post about? You just have to keep attacking each other? I post on another thread that has been having quiet a lively debate about this election as well. But what I see there are people debating the issues and defending their positions with facts.

Do not embellish the story Cindy to make it seem like it was more. My son got on a bus to go to Iraq and he had a uniform but he certainly didn't have any weapons on him and neither did any of his men either time.
I believe the son she is speaking of is in the Marines. Is that the one you are referring to? They have 2 sons in the military. One did deploy to Iraq for combat.

Yes, she referred to her son in the marines. She said something about him strapping on his weapons and getting on a bus to go to Iraq. That didn't happen. He might have gotten on a bus, but he didn't get on that bus with weapons on . They don't do that for obvious reasons. I am not sure if her son who is a Marine officer is through with TBS or OIC yet. I think he graduated this past spring so he won't be deploying anywhere for at least another year. If he graduated last Spring, he may be getting ready to deploy now.,

They more than likely were with him and were able to say good bye as he left for deployment but from first hand experience, no one had their weapon strapped to them unless it was one that he had illegally.

I am not denigrating their son's service or anything like that as my son is a marine as well, I am just questioning why she would say such a thing if it weren't true.

The other boy attended the Naval Academy and is a nice kid. Both my kids have met the McCains a few years ago when he came to a wrestling match at the Academy and I think his son was doing an academy visit.

Some Marines do, indeed "strap on their weapon" when deploying.

How novel. Could you PM me with the link please? Although I might have lost the ability through lack of use to post about facts, I could try.
