Palin's husband

Anyone hear him speak?

His voice doesn't sound remotely like I would've thought. Very interesting accent!

I believe he was born in Dillingham, AK, and is part Inupiat. His accent, though slight, sounds Native Alaskan.

It's kind of interesting that the media is bringing up his OWI from 20 years ago. That was the same time Obama was messing around with drugs! lol

I have not heard him speak. But if he was raised in and around any Native Americans (and does the Inupiat consider themselves Native American? I'm woefully ignorant on Alaskan history!) he will have a distinct lilt and cadence to his speech.

Since we live in a state heavily populated by Native Americans--I can always tell when one of my claimants has been raised on a Rez or in Native American culture by their speech. Of course, their last name of Twoteeth, Many Guns, Ragged Robe, etc. is usually a good indicator as well!

Actually, I agree but even more interesting is that those darn liberal media mavens at the Christian Broadcasting Network broke the story.

Quote:
Todd Palin, the husband of John McCain's running mate Sarah Palin, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in 1986, CBS News confirms.

The Christian Broadcasting Network, which broke the story of Todd Palin's 1986 arrest, reports that Palin was behind the wheel of a truck in the small southwestern Alaska town of Dillingham when he was pulled over and arrested for the DUI.

Palin was 22 years old at the time of his arrest.

Careful - you might be accused of stereotyping there! There's probably a list of Native American baby names out there you could point to as proof, though!

I, too, grew up around quite a few Native Americans (last names like "Two Guns" and such!) but Palin's husband sounded much different than I'd ever heard before. I just wasn't expecting it for some reason.

He was the age of a college kid when he was stopped. Not that it makes it acceptable... but I would assume he learned his lesson since as far as we know, he's been clean since then.

So if someones last name is TwoGuns you wouldn't think it was Native American? lol

It was bound to come out anyway.....I'm glad they aren't making a big deal out of it though. Same with Obamas drug use. Ancient history.

NO, I haven't heard him speak, but, when I look at him, I can "see" a southern Ma*****o Man voice on him. Anyone got a link for a sound bite ????
