Oh my

McCain really should have vetted this woman.

After Obama beat Clinton she said, “So Sambo beat the bitch!” Who says racism isn't alive and well in America?

You know, no one will ever know if this story is true or not but ... perception is everything. I simply cannot imagine Cindy McCain or Laura Bush saying such a thing but I can believe it about Sarah Palin.

Okay, I just have to comment on this. An anonymous waitress, named only as Lucille, in and anonymous restaurant in Alaska tells of a horrible racial slur that she claims she overheard Gov. Palin say. This sounds like something I would get as an email forward.

There is speculation that this is a Rove trap. The press will pick it up and then get slapped down for misleading the public and thus making Palin seem more maligned and sympathetic. The anonymous Lucille seems to be the only one speaking out.

You know, I wouldn't doubt that for a minute. There are lots of less then flattering stories on the net about her and her family and few if any have made it to the "legitimate press". The McCain camp had to email the first National Enquirer article to reporters before it got much traction so for sure they wouldn't be above what you suggest.

It's hard to believe even Sarah Palin is stupid enough to say something like that. But I wouldn't rule it out as possible,

Rove is an idiot! I wish he would just quietly disappear. Either way this is pretty much a non-story. More partisan bs.

It's not partisan BS if it turns out to be true.

I didn't say it WAS true, I said it might be true and IF it is, it's not just partisan BS. If it's NOT true, then it's not anything but garbage.

Sheesh.

Have a great day!

OMG, if you believe that statement, then why don't you show the ones going around on the net now of the photo-shopped pictures of Sarah Palin in a bikini holding a rifle!!

Good Lord!!

The Democrats are running scared and truly are trying their best to discredit this lady, but it's not working!!

Dream away! Believe me...no dems or independents I know are running scared. They are by and large overjoyed that such an unqualified candidate was placed on the ballot. Makes Mr. Obama being elected that much easier.

I'm not anxious to see the pic but where do you hang out that you would see something like that? I visit lots of sites and haven't seen it although I confess to having heard about it on a radio show.

I really am beginning to believe, as wildwood said, that many of the "stories" we are hearing about Governor Palin, based on fact or not, are plants by the republican party to anger and motivate the party faithful. If that is the case, it's not only the democrats who should be "scared".

I kind of the liked the John McCain of 2000. This one, no thanks. I never realized what a neocon he was until 2001.

This country is in a terrible mess. Blustery threats won't help us. Saying stupid things like, "I'd rather lose an election than a war." after we have been told to leave doesn't give me confidence that this man is in touch with reality. He admits to not understanding the economy. He's probably never even paid a bill himself in his entire life.

In 2004, the right made fun of Kerry for being married to a rich woman. McCain's parents were rich (daddy married money too), his first wife was rich and Cindy is rich. Isn't he a kept man? At least Kerry seems to love Theresa. He never called her a trollop and a c*nt.

His military experience means he knows how to drop bombs. That will be his solution for everything.

If the phone rings at 3 a.m., I want someone smart and well educated answering. I don't want another underachiever answering it.

You seemed to be making some sense earlier today.

Apparently a gentleman by the name of Larry C. Johnson, an ex-CIA agent and Clinton supporter. Here's info from his wiki site:

[edit] 2008
Quote:
In 2008, Johnson emerged as a staunch supporter of Hillary Clinton and a strong critic of Barack Obama. Larry Johnson's blog, NoQuarterUSA, became a rally point for disgruntled racially insensitive Clinton supporters wary of Barack Hussein Obama's qualifications to be president. Supporters of Barack Obama insist that a story that first appeared on Johnson's blog--a report that Republican operatives have a tape of Michelle Obama making racially insenstive comments about caucasians--has been "refuted" Barack Obama's Fight the Smears website.[24]. However, Johnson never claimed to have the tape and reported that the Republican operatives controlling it intend to release the tape sometime after the Democratic Convention in August 2008.
Interesting last sentence in the above paragraph, especially since fox news pushed this story for weeks.

While I hope you're wrong, and while every single thing I see about Sarah Palin makes me more confident by the day, I am going to try to keep my enthusiasm under wraps. I have no desire to set myself up to possibly have to eat crow and don't have any plans to threaten to move to France if my candidate doesn't win.

Regardless of her social politics, one would hope that people on both sides could appreciate the revolution she so obviously created in Alaska politics. I really appreciate the fact that she came from the middle class and up until the last few years, was definitely middle class herself. In fact, I have no clue what the governor's job pays, but I'm rather sure it's considerably less than Biden has been making as a Senator.... and she's just been at that pay grade for 20 months. Her husband quit his job with BP so she's the primary provider right now. They're not gazillionairres, from what I can tell.

I just think this whole thing is cool.

And to get back on topic, was it "Lucille" that supposedly told the author of that piece what she supposedly heard SP say? Interstingly... she grew up on Lucille St.

Wonder if he just got confused about what he was hearing...

I wouldn't be too sure about that. There have only been 2 Democrat Presidents in the past 40 years.

Well, duh!
Three hurrays for unsubstantiated and politically biased internet rumors! Hip hip hurray!
My money's on NOT true.

That's what we heard from like this guy who runs a blog who heard it from like another person that actually talked to like this chick Lucille. She heard it while like waiting on them, and she's like upset about it, but not enough to provide like her last name so that it can be like verified.
PS - did you hear like how Trevor like asked Caitlin to homecoming?

Really shows how the bloggers have taken the idea of "news", and completely turned it around into "whatever bullsh*t rumor that can drive traffic to my sh*tty little site today." How can a person post a story about ANYBODY based upon hearsay from an anonymous source, and still sleep at night? I don't care who it's for or against.

NO, it's not a newspaper. From their own site:

Who are Dick & Sharon?
Dick and Sharon are a married couple that got fed up with the status quo. Fed up with the do nothing politicians, the say nothing media, and the unengaged populace. Together they edit and publish the LA Progressive Ezine (electronic magazine) and distribute its weekly e-news. Originally from Minneapolis and New York respectively, Dick and Sharon have a blended family of four children (Raheem, Wade, Deva, and Linnea), three children-in-law (Dan, Kelli, and Yoko), a cat named Cee and a boa constrictor named Adelaide.

Not exactly an unbiased news source.

You mean unbiased like Fox News? How are Dick & Sharon, as an e-zine, any less biased than any other magazine or news source?

Hmmmmm. . .because they are in their own words

"Both have day jobs but have been progressive activists for more than 30 years, each supporting progressive causes in their own way. But it wasn’t until the “swiftboating” of John Kerry that Dick, himself a Vietnam Veteran, urged Sharon to join him and ratchet up their activism. Since the Bu****es took over, Dick and Sharon have worked to promote the progressive agenda in Los Angeles and its surrounding communities hoping to do their small part in providing information to the people they believe will suffer the most from the policies of this White House.

I think there are a lot of news sources that aren't put out by self proclaimed progressive activists.

Btw . . .I never said Fox News is unbiased, there bias is about equivalent to MSNBC's.

You certainly aren't implying that Dick and Sharon are unbiased are you? Because that would be equivalent to saying Right Wing News (Conservative News and Views) is an unbiased news source.

I wasn't the one who posted an article from a self proclaimed biased, left wing website as if it came from some reputable source with journalistic integrity.
