if you had to vote today

..on a Presidential canidate and your safety whether physical or financal was on the line for whom would you vote TODAY. I saw this question on t v last night (just the poll results) and the answer there was McCain 50% Obama 37%.
What would your vote TODAY be? Mc Cain for me because of his political experience and if he didn't know the answers to the questions he would know who to ask for the answers. I am afraid Obama would confer with Oprah, sit on her couch and discuss the problem and see how the audience responds.

McCain for me. I don't agree with all his positions (e.g. immigration) but he certainly is a better fit for me than Obama. National security is one of my major issues and I feel much more confident with McCain. I also want my "Bush" tax-cuts to remain in effect.

Obama. had enough of Bush and all his Democratic friends. This country is worst off now than it has ever been. it will be four more years of the same thing that is happening now, foreclosures, mortage companies and banks failing, people losing everything. With Bush in office, I had to endure 3 jobs eliminations/resturcting so my pay was lowered, I am maxed out at my current positon, but with the ecomony the way it is there are no jobs out there. I will take my chances with Obama.

What is confusing? Perhaps if you read before you post you might understand. Oh wait I will go over it. The ecomony is the worst it has ever been, people are losing jobs , look today more and more companies are laying off are just going under. Perhaps where you live there are no FORECLOSURES, silly me to think that, But here where I live there are too many.

What is confusing is that you say "had enough of Bush and all his Democratic friends." Bush is a Republican.

And as for foreclosures, sure, we have them. I feel real bad for people who have a champagne taste on a beer pocket book.

I think they meant what was confusing was that you wrote Bush and all his Democratic friends.....maybe you meant Republican friends???

Slow down. . .go back and read your post. You said you are voting for Obama because you are tired of Bush and his Democratic friends. I assume you meant to say "Bush and his Republican friends" but I didn't want to put words in your mouth. . .so I just posted "huh???" I hope it's safe to assume you know that Obama is the Democratic nominee, McCain is the Republican nominee, and Bush is a Republican, right?

I have to agree about the foreclosures. I'm sure there are exceptions, but I think far too many of the foreclosures are a result of people wanting a McMansion when they really could only afford a 60s ranch. Also, many people opted for adjustable rate mortgages which initally offered them very low rates, rather than a fixed rate mortgage. When we bought our first house, we were ignorant of how the system worked. We did, however, do a bit of research and figured out it would be more prudent to get a fixed rate that way our payments would not continually fluctuate. It's really just common sense.

Wait I see the problem right now, you are a Sarah Palin supporter. Do you know what issue she does not support?
1.Opposes embryonic stem cell research. Sorry but this has the pottntial to help people.
2. Pro-life and wants Roe vs Wade overturn.
3.Teach creationism alongside evolution in schools. There is a thing called the seperation of church and state I guess sarah miss that one.
4. Both her and Mccain support off shore drilling, sorry no and that is a big no. I do not want my state coastline populated with oil drilling platforms. Even if this happens do you realize that it would be 10 years before you would oil in the us.

It is common sense, fornately for me I do not have that problem with my mortage. But millions of people do. Do a little research and find out how many people these were duped by the mortage companies into believing that they could get a house and have no problem with making the payments.

I know how Palin stand on the issues. . .what's your point?

As far as Matt Damon. . .who cares really? Cindy McCain has been all over the world helping the poor and disadvantaged, but that's neither here nor there.

Personally, I am Pro-life. I have my own personal reasons for feeling that way. I don't think Roe v. Wade will ever be overturned, no matter what side a particualr politicain takes on the matter. And I am fine with that. If our Supreme Court ruled that a woman has a constitutional right to an abortion, then so be it. Do I wish we lived in a world where no one would choose to have one? Yes, but that is just wishful thinking on my part.

I am Pro-Choice, One never know if Roe vs Wade will ever be overturned. But I am not going to elect a someone who supports overturning it. Just like I would never vote for someone just because they are a women like many here on this board are doing.

If I had to vote today, I would not vote for either Obama or McCain.
I would vote for a third party. Chuck Baldwin (Constitution Party).

Good choice IMO actually. I have voted for Nader in the past, but now feel like that is kind of a waste. I looked into Ron Paul, but he's just too out there for me. I have a friend who usually voted Libertairian, but is not too impressed with their candidate this time, so she is voting McCain.

I don't think anyone here claims to be voting for someone just because she is a woman.

I have many gun owning friends that feel the same way you do. They won't vote for Obama, because of his stand on gun control. I'm not necessarily pro-gun, but I recognize the second amendment. Kind of how I feel about the Roe v. Wade thing.

Here is a map showing where offshore drilling is happening, where it is allowed, etc.

Again you post without knowing the facts. the sections the have that orange/yellow color are areas that do not have drilling. The areas surrounding the state of Florida are not avaiable for drilling, but will be in the ban is lifted. That's is from the article you posted.

You posted a map without looking at it. Look at where the drilling is allowed and where it is not allowed again before you make any more comments.

Ok...so because millions of people didn't do their research and got "duped," what should be done? How is this a McCain v. Obama issue anyway? I consider it a poor choice issue for the most part. Where has personal responsibility gone? If you can't afford a $500k house, then dammit, don't try and get a mortgage for one - NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE ELSE TELLS YOU! If I went out and bought a Ferrari and then realized that oops, I can only afford a Focus (which I do have, thank you very much), should I expect other responsible tax payers to bail me out just because the finance company went ahead and financed it? It's all about the entitlement mentality that is far too prevalent in today's society. If I want a big house, then dammit, I'll get one. Screw that. Start out in a little starter house and work your way up the property ladder. I just heard some idiots on tv saying they want McCain to put up people in his houses because those people got forelcosed on, and gosh darnit, those people were trying to have a piece of the American Dream. The American Dream does not mean you are entitled to move into a gated community w/ an inground pool, or you need a 4 bedroom new construction house, etc. It means you can work hard and by doing so, you can improve your family and its way of living, but again, it's based on how hard you work, what you earn, etc. And, yet again, I'll point out that I know there are exceptions and not all foreclosures are based on poor choices.

I looked at the friggin map! I never once said where offshore drilling is happening or not! You made some assumptions based on your own perception. . .maybe you should stop assuming things!

Whats a matter when someone calls you out on a comment or something that you yourself posted, you start with the rude comments. Nice.

No. . .because you made a lot of wrong assumptions about people. You wanted to jump all over me for things I didn't even post. Why are you so defensive?

That is crazy.
The same "type" of comment could apply to your voting for Obama. ONLY voting because he is black.

LMAO! We don't all see eye to eye on the issues, and that's fine with me. Our world would be pretty boring if we did. But, you have to agree, this is some funny sh*t!

Be careful....one could also say some are only voting for McCain because he is NOT BLACK.

The race and gender cards are very tricky in this one.....

I agree Kelliiii.
I don't think any intelligent person is voting for Obama because he is black, voting for McCain because he isn't, or voting for the ticket with Palin beacause she is a woman. Damn! That leaves out Biden, LOL!
