McCain rally-OMG!

It was awesome. My son loved it. What a wonderful experience!!! I think there were over 7000 people at a hanger in an airport! All the people were nice. The weather was beautiful. The rally even started on time! lol Afterwards McCain/Palin toured the local flooded areas via car. My son wanted to hang out and see what happened when they came back to their plane. Good thing we did!! There were probably a few hundred left when they came back almost an hour later. John went along the entire row of fencing shaking peoples hands. When he came to us my son reached out, he was behind me, and I could tell he was going to miss it by a few inches so I grabbed his wrist and pushed it forward! Yippee. Next was Sarah. She was starting to veer off towards the direction of the plane and wasn't going to come towards us. A little girl next to us (about 9 or 10) was born and breed in Alaska (as her tshirt said) and she wanted to shake her hand so badly. When I saw Sarah wasn't going to get to us I started pointing down on the little girls head and yelled she's from Alaska a few times. She turned and saw the girl and came over!!! My son said it was because of what I did! (Big mouths are sometimes useful!) So we did get to shake her hand and she reached over and gave the girl a big smile and a small hug! You could tell Sarah liked that she was an Alaskan native. It was really a sweet moment. It was fun to have had the opportunity to shake their hands!

I'm so glad you and your son had a great experience! I hope you took pictures and will post them. Was this televised on Fox News today? I saw one speech today with McCain and Palin and wondered if that was the one you attended.

I wish they would come to our area. They've been to the northern end of Virginia but not our area yet.

So, tell us, were you impressed with Gov. Palin and Sen. McCain?

We were very impressed with both of them. Sarah is a very good speaker and a little doll! lol Her hubby was there also. Yes that was the rally on Fox today-the one where McCain said if he were pres he'd fire that one dude for the bank mess. I was so happy my son got to be involved in this. It was a wonderful educational experience.  I'm not sure how to copy a pic but maybe I can get my son to do it later! He's got them on his facebook page already! Thanks for your interest.

Kathy, were you near the hecklers? I loved it when the McCain/Palin supporters started shouting "McCain" and "USA" and drowned them out!! I also liked the part when he talked directly to the protesters and told them that this was what a town hall meeting was for and that if they were angry, to ask Mr. Obama why HE would not meet in a town hall meeting forum!!

I loved it!!

While I know that you and I are on different ends of the politcal spectrum, I must congratulate you on getting your son involved in the process. I think it is very important for all children to see their parents involved int the politcal process. This is an experience I am sure he will never forget.
