Obama should say "we" more.

I.
I.
I.
I.
I.
I.

I'm listening to him explain his version of today's events, and he's campaigning. I think he looks out of his league. And he keeps saying "I".

I think he wouldn't sound quite so arrogant if he could say, "We need.... we will... we should.... it's important for us to..."

Instead, he just keeps saying, in some oddly distant voice, "I will... I am... I do...."

It's as though he thinks if he talks about how grandiose he is enough times that he's going to convince somebody. The only thing he didn't do was rip off his shirt and beat his chest.

My big fear is that Obama is the only one who will show up for the debate and we'll be stuck listening to an hour of blathering about I I I I I.

Funny, I watched the same thing and didn't get that. At all.

If he'd said "we" people would be griping about his presumptiveness. We all know he can't win with a certain element here; the notion that you're unbiased on this one is ridiculous.

If John McCain is too much of a coward to debate, I recommend you not watch.

I notice, too, that when Obama speaks, when he speaks about the future generation, he always says "for my girls" -- it's never 'your children'. Always 'for my girls'.

As for the poster who said something about McCain being too coward to debate -- what a joke that statement is! Even Former President Clinton said today it was obvious he wasn't trying to avoid debating because he had asked Obama for 10 town hall debates!!

What silly phrases some people use when they have nothing to really say!! Coward!! Oh, my goodness!

Please don't tell Obama about my nits.

"I saw those nits, and I'm the one with the plan to deal with them."

Blech.

There's a time for grandstanding and today really wasn't that time. He looked like he was stuck in Americana Neverland, unsure how to react in front of the cameras... and he came down on the side of "campaigner" rather than "senator who wants to roll up his sleeves and work on the biggest financial crisis facing America since the Great Depression."

I think when push comes to shove, Obama is interested in one thing: Putting Barry First

Yeah, that's it. That is why he is running for President. Because of the massive perks and the glory of the job. It isn't one bit difficult of a life for his family and he couldn't possibly make more money in the private sector. People who run for office, any office are not usually all about them. They do it because they want to better the world. Obama is no different than McCain and they both are trying to do what they believe is best for the country. Neither is out for themselves. I can think of about a million other ways someone could be out for themselves without subjecting themselves to the constant critique of his and McCains' motives for running for President.

Oh, I don't know about that.

There are certainly narcicistic politicians who just like to be in charge of stuff.

Obama just doesn't look ready to be in charge today. Sorry, but he just doesn't. Today he looked like somebody whose advisers told him, "Just go out there and act like the guy with the plan. Whatever you say, talk about yourself a lot in terms of *you* as *leader*. *You* as the one who *knows*. You you you! Talk about you. Now GO!"

Is there a video on youtube?. . .because I'd really love to see it. I think he's out of his league.

Eye of the beholder, I am sure. I didn't see Obama but I did see John McCain on the news tonight for a few seconds and I wasn't impressed that he was THE leader to lead us through these dark hours. I think there is a lot of that going around. No one knows what to say or do. As a matter of fact, I didn't get many fuzzies at all watching GWB last night.

Sometimes I think that if Obama spoke like Churchill, looked like Gable, was called Mother Teresa2, and promised to give every person in America $200,000 tax free people would complain about the shoes he was wearing.

Oh, come on. I can't be the only person here that doesn't see the historical perspective of this.

Gerge Herbert Waker Bush was highly ridiculed for his inability to refer to himself in the first person. He didn't use pronouns.

It was a running joke during his administration. Since then, persons running for higher office have been very particular about idenifying themselves with everything that they beliieve in.

It's almost a right of passage for modern day polititians. They talk in the first person. If they are going to claim credit, they say it in the first person.
