I think it had something to do with her answering a question from the crowd that was caught on tape. Apparently, her answer was similar to the policy approach Sen. Obama has said he would have, which unfortunately for Gov. Phalin, is the exact opposite of Sen. McCain's proposed policy. So, now she is grounded and can't answer a question without Sen. McCain by her side to basically answer the question for her ... LOL ... No wonder Sen. McCain's end game last week, when he decided he was required to "save the day" and just had to cancel the debate for the good of the country (hahaha) , was to delay the VP debates. Such sad times... |

Oh my ........... Oh my my ............ Come on Gov. Palin, can't you name even one national or international news source? Heaven help us. "Most of them ... all of them" is right up there with dead silence to SC decision awareness. Couric: And when it comes to establishing your worldview, I was curious, what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for this to stay informed and to understand the world? Palin: I’ve read most of them, again with a great appreciation for the press, for the media. Couric: What, specifically? Palin: Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me all these years. Couric: Can you name a few? Palin: I have a vast variety of sources where we get our news, too. Alaska isn’t a foreign country, where it’s kind of suggested, “Wow, how could you keep in touch with what the rest of Washington, D.C., may be thinking when you live up there in Alaska?” Believe me, Alaska is like a microcosm of America. |

The Republican vice presidential candidate's answer was similar to Democratic nominee Barack Obama's statement that he would support sending U.S. troops into Pakistan to attack high-value targets like Osama bin Laden who are thought to be hiding in tribal areas along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. "If that's what we have to do stop the terrorists from coming any further in, absolutely, we should," Palin told the voter during the exchange, which was captured on video." The Associated Press: Today on the presidential campaign trail "Katie Couric: Over the weekend, Gov. Palin, you said the U.S. should absolutely launch cross-border attacks from Afghanistan into Pakistan to, quote, "stop the terrorists from coming any further in." Now, that's almost the exact position that Barack Obama has taken and that you, Sen. McCain, have criticized as something you do not say out loud. So, Gov. Palin, are you two on the same page on this? Sarah Palin: We had a great discussion with President Zardari as we talked about what it is that America can and should be doing together to make sure that the terrorists do not cross borders and do not ultimately put themselves in a position of attacking America again or her allies. And we will do what we have to do to secure the United States of America and her allies. Couric: Is that something you shouldn't say out loud, Sen. McCain? John McCain: Of course not. But, look, I understand this day and age of "gotcha" journalism. Is that a pizza place? In a conversation with someone who you didn't hear … the question very well, you don't know the context of the conversation, grab a phrase. Gov. Palin and I agree that you don't announce that you're going to attack another country … Couric: Are you sorry you said it? McCain: … and the fact … Couric: Governor? McCain: Wait a minute. Before you say, "is she sorry she said it," this was a "gotcha" sound bite that, look … Couric: It wasn't a "gotcha." She was talking to a voter. McCain: No, she was in a conversation with a group of people and talking back and forth. And … I'll let Gov. Palin speak for herself. Palin: Well, it … in fact, you're absolutely right on. In the context, this was a voter, a constituent, hollering out a question from across an area asking, "What are you gonna do about Pakistan? You better have an answer to Pakistan." I said we're gonna do what we have to do to protect the United States of America. Couric: But you were pretty specific about what you wanted to do, cross-border … Palin: Well, as Sen. McCain is suggesting here, also, never would our administration get out there and show our cards to terrorists, in this case, to enemies and let them know what the game plan was, not when that could ultimately adversely affect a plan to keep America secure. Couric: What did you learn from that experience? Palin: That this is all about "gotcha" journalism. A lot of it is. But that's okay, too." Of course I’d never vote the McCain/Palin ticket but she soooo funny |

I don't generally call a lie when it comes to politics. I respect the campaign process, which has both sides shading the shades of gray, everyone kissing a baby, and inventing the BlackBerry. But Palin isn't speaking for herself. And to say that she is is just a lie. Honest John, where have you gone? Palin has been wrapped up in ice up to now. She had an interview with Charlier Gibson, where she sucked. And then with Katie Coric, where she really, really sucked. I understand that she had done another interview with Couric where she did great, and it will air after the debates. How nice it must be to do "do over" like this. Wish that I could do "do-overs" in my life. I'm just a little flabbergasted that the McCain administration is ecstatic about a do over when the original interview was so really horrible. I would be concerned about the fact that my choice of candidate was really bad; McCain's campaign seems more interested about whether they can make it look better be doing it again. I bet Qualye would have spelled "potato" different too on a "do-over." My guess is that Palin will do fine on Thursday. The expectations are so low, right now, that I don't think that she shouldn't be able to overcome them. So, I'm going to come out in advance of this story: "Palin wasn't an absolute idiot, so she wins the debate." Betcha. And I take paypal. |

The saddest thing that I have read lately is that the McCain campaign is thinking that a lavish wedding for Palin's unfortunate daughter might just help them in this race. I don't really want to see this marriage take place. After watching Bristol and Levi at the convention, with their absence of smiles and rare glances at each other, I just don't think that these two should be forced into a marriage. |

Do you seriously think that clips of those two, Bristol and Levi, at the convention is really indicative of their relationship?? Do you think that maybe nerves may have had something to do with their behavior?? What were they supposed to do, ogle each other?? lol
