Angry Anyone other than me upset that the bailout passed?

When an overwelming majority of americans opposed the bill in the first place, and am not just alking 60 - 40 here last I heard something like 85% of americans opposed the bill.

I thought the House and Sennate were suposed to repersent us. To me this proves they do not. I am not sure who they represent anymore maby busness and the banking sector.

Sorry about this post and my spelling, I am just angry about this. I mean when only 15% were for this bill and they passed it anyway there is just something very wrong with this picture.

What are your thoughts?

I posted this in this thread:

http://www.mycoupons.com/boards/elec...lout-bill.html

But I think it deserves repeating.

We are giving somebody who maxed out there credit card another one to payoff the first one. We have only prolonged the problem and made it worse.

BTW. . .I thought the Dems were against "trickle down" economics and the Repubs were for free markets. Both sides are full of liars and greedy b*stards. In the end, this was a huge mistake IMO.

Agreed! It's a sad day for America.

I so agree. What a mistake to continue rewarding those who made less than stellar decisions with my money that I spend wisely with no handouts!

I think it's a feel good thing, again, on the part of Congress.

Barney Frank is like the fat kid standing there with frosting all over his face saying,"Who ate the cake?" He makes me want to puke. . .or buy him a hunting trip with Cheney for Christmas.

Angry, sad, but not shocked.

We had called/emailed our Representative before the first vote and before this last vote. He voted against the bailout bill both times.
We also contacted our Senators..but they both voted for the bill.

List of how the Representatives voted

Some people might not be aware that the Senate passed this bill first.
Obama, Biden, McCain, and Clinton all voted for the bailout bill.

While I hate the bail-out, I really don't think there was any choice: it had to be done.

I just don't get it - I thought this was to help the housing bust issue, but to spend $700,000,000,000 the financial institutions would have had to loan out $250,000 to 2.8 million people (for example) to equal 700 billion AND have ALL those people default on their loan.

Really, where IS that $$$ going?

I'm so angry right now I could kill. We waited 13yrs. to get a mortgage for a house. We knew we couldn't afford one earlier. As a matter of fact, when we were qualifying for this house, the first and only mortgage company we went to tried to convince us we could afford a house for $250,000. Our income is only $40,000 a year. We could have been one of those who were stupid, but chose to be responsible.
