Where do these polls come from???

WE keep hearing about "the polls" and how this one ahead, and then another poll will see the other person is ahead.

Where are these polls??? And who are they polling??? Do you put faith in the polls?? I don't think I do, and honestly, wish the media would just shut up about them already. I think I'm just so ready for this race to be over.

Those are valid questions. I'm not a statitician so it's hard to say which polls are most relevant. I think the best way to determine how accurate they are is to go back historically and compare poll results with actual outcomes. I haven't done that so I don't really know.

A funny aside, my mom was polled last week. She told me she told them she was voting Obama. I know she isn't, so I asked why she would say that. She said, "I don't think it's anybody's business how I'm voting." My mom! LOL!

I live in a "swing state" so they are always calling. I give different answers according to my mood. Just call me a "skewer."
