Where's the outrage?

Sitting here this morning reading about the gov't plan to assume partial ownership of the banks and also to sit down and conciliate with the Taliban. If either of these things had happened under Obama the Cons would be absolutely rabid, wailing about the end of America as we know it.

Just curious...where's the outrage at your own Republican president?

I've been trying to stay away from the TV lately. All they want to talk about is the depressing stuff and the stock market, so I have not even heard this.

I do think there was a thread here on the Gov't owning the banks, but I didn't read it. Maybe that has some of the outrage you're looking for.

I'm with AiA - I've not had the tv on much in the last 24 hours. I looked at drudge and saw that Bush and a slew of world leaders met about the economy and didn't really do anything specific at this point. I also saw that Pelosi is so confident in an Obama win that she's planning to call her people back earlier than she normally would so they can try to slide a stimulus bill of around $150B (or more) in quickly, including checks for all of us to help stimulate the economy.

Other than that and the smidge I saw about the trooper issue in AK, I've been media-free and doing some work on the 'puter all day.

I *don't* like the idea of us *owning* banks unless there is also a provision to sell what we own at some point... like.... once things are stable again (and there are measures that indicate what stable looks like) the government must sell its share of any bank that it owns.

Outrage was shown when they passed the "rescue plan". This is where Congress (Dem. controlled and some Rep) gave the President what he wanted. The Sec. of Treasury has been given lots of power with some questionable oversight.
Some of the outrage is now taking shape into trying to get others elected that will not vote that way.

Myself, I have turned the outrage into finding ways to prepare for the bigger "crises" that is coming.

Yes, America is changing but not for the better.
