Debate observation

After watching the debate tonight I began to watch McCain's eyes and all the eye rolling around that he did and I just want to know if anyone else noticed that he has the same eyes as Fonzi from Happy Days. Did anyone else notice that? Thanks for your observations.

Oh great---now I've got the mental image of McCain in a leather jacket going " eeehhhhhhh". Could you just imagine him saying "Sit on it Barry"....

I didn't notice the eye rolling -- I did notice that he seems to blink about ten times as much as ordinary people do. I though it might have something to do with the facial surgeries he's had -- and a few weeks ago, he had a bad eye droop. I thought perhaps it was related to the surgeries as well.

LOL.

Bless his heart. He is trying to be so earnest and he is coming off as desperate. Relax, McCain and stick to the subject at hand. And Joe probably is sitting on his couch with his six pack watching WWF and not listening to this mess.

couple of things---if you are referring to professional wrestling, it's not the WWF anymore, The World Wildlife Federation got a bit bent out of shape with wrestling using their initials. So they are now the WWE--World Wrestling Entertainment I think.
Second, my children (God love them) says wrestling is not on tonite. So, maybe Joe was watching "My Big Redneck Wedding"! LOL

Am I the only one who feels bad for McCain? Now, I don't like him. But he wanted this for so long, and he isn't bringing it.

I always feel bad for people who want something badly and fail when they get the chance.

McCain didn't bring it. He didn't.

No, I hear you. I feel badly for him because he sounds so desperate and he didn't bring it no matter what Romney says (who said that Obama was on his heels the whole time and McCain looked presidential)

This would have been John's last shot. And he has had years of great service. I belive he sold his soul to the Republican Party and they allowed him to be their front runner. I don't believe for a minute that it was his choice to go with Palin and I am sure now that the party is dividing over her, he is certainly sorry that she came on board.

I feel for John McCain. I know he is a man of character and integrity. He just wanted it so badly that he lost that sight, I think.

I was wondering about the blinking myself. My DD brought it to my attention. Does he have eye trouble? Or maybe it's contacts?

Maybe if you read the transcript people would not be so distracted by eyes, blinking, etc.

Read it to know how Obama and McCain answered the questions.

Thanks for posting this, but I am able to watch and listen. It is one of my talents. I observed to see who was more presidential looking as well as sounding. You can tell a lot from body language.

It really doesn't matter who I vote for now (really didn't matter anyway, Texas being a McCain stronghold) - Everyone thinks McCain is a Bush clone and most of us are fed up with Bush, so I really see no way he can win.

I think it's sad, that McCain really does not have a chance against a tall, attractive, eloquent man who promises change. McCain looks old next to Obama, but McCain is full of passion that I just don't see in Obama.

Obama just better damned-well follow through on all those promises. It is scary that a man we still do not know enough about is going to be president. Honestly, it scares me.

Just an FYI, it's POTUS (President of the United States), not PUTUS

No, I feel bad for him too. I still sorta like him though, but I don't feel he's the best man for the job this time around.

It's funny that you say that. I watched the Frontline Choice 2008 the other night on PBS and at the very end they said it was kind of ironic that Obama is the more conservative one, where McCain has been more progressive in his life. . .not in the political sense of those words. . .just the general terms.

Let me find the link again. I would suggest anybody should watch it. It was very good. It did make me feel slightly better about Obama. . .I still won't vote for him, but I feel I know a little bit more about him now.

I don't think everyone thinks McCain is a Bush clone. I think (hope) people are doing research into the issues that matter to them, and seeing things how they are.

I think if Obama gets elected, it will be interesting to see what he actually gets accomplished. I don't think he will be very well respected at POTUS, and will be out of there in 4 years.

Maybe after last night's debate, it will be "Joe the plumber" instead of "Joe six pack"

McCain does blink an awful lot. There is also something periodically wrong with his left eye. This video, taken a day before the first debate, shows it pretty clearly. YouTube - John McCain Suspends Campaign To Work On Economy Crisis, Requested Obama Do The Same
