Sounds like he wants to steal the Bush play book after he poo-poo'd it the first time this idea came to the fore.

So what's the BIG difference in your eyes?

The people in Afghanistan have suffered as much as the people in Iraq as far as the horrors of war. We shouldn't be anymore involved in one than the other. All the arguments against being in Iraq can be applied to being in Afghanistan. Are Afghans somehow more disposable than Iraqis?

Why would one be justified and the other not?

In case Mr. Obama doesn't know, the surge is already beginning in Afghanistan and will continue to build. Our Brigade is already scheduled to go over there early next year, as are others.
