kkk at palin rally Disgusting!

Click on Obama supporters at Palin rally under video. Palin supporters put kkk signs in windows overlooking the Civic Center where Palin held a rally tonight. I knew there were some backward people here but I am totally disgusted by this.

Asheville is actually one of the most liberal cities in NC. (it has been dubbed the Paris of the south Asheville travel guide - Wikitravel) Just those backward hillbillies whose families have been here forever are like this. Thats all they know.

I find this even more insidious and disgusting:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/24/us...Jw&oref=slogin

Last week, two Muslim women wearing head scarves were barred by campaign volunteers from appearing behind Mr. Obama at a rally in Detroit. . .

After the episode in Detroit last week, Mr. Obama telephoned the two Muslim women to apologize. “I take deepest offense to and will continue to fight against discrimination against people of any religious group or background,” he said in a statement.

Such gestures have fallen short in the eyes of many Muslim leaders, who say the Detroit incident and others illustrate a disconnect between Mr. Obama’s message of unity and his campaign strategy.

“The community feels betrayed,”
said Safiya Ghori, the government relations director in the Washington office of the Muslim Public Affairs Council.

Even some of Mr. Obama’s strongest Muslim supporters say they are uncomfortable with the forceful denials he has made in response to rumors that he is secretly a Muslim. (Ten percent of registered voters believe the rumor, according to a poll by the Pew Research Center.)

A lot of us are waiting for him to say that there’s nothing wrong with being a Muslim, by the way,” Mr. Ellison said.

READ MY SIGNATURE! Nothing is more disgusting than thinking I'm too stupid to realize that Muslim does not equal terrorist! What a condescending piece of crap!

Racism and bigotry are not inherited traits...those are all taught in the home......so these children are at the unfortunate mercy of ignorant adults. Hopefully they will grow up to be less hateful then those who allow such hate and mocking behavior.

Unfortunately, this link seems to be broken or gone now, but I never fail to be amazed at the way McCain/Palin supporters try to deflect an action of this week with something that happened months ago -- and old event for which an apology was issued. Has Palin yet apologized for the actions of her supporters?

No they wont apologize until thier numbers drop some more. You know like a month ago when all the hate was going on at thier rallies.

Why should they apologize? There was ONE KKK sign in an apartment building on the route to where Sarah was going to speak. How do you even know it wasn't a Obama supporter trying to make problems. Heck, someone could have paid the guy sitting under the sign in the window. Looks like it was a low-income apartment building. It's not like the KKK was standing there at the rally in white robes holding crosses.

Gezzzz --- talk about sensitive!

You have to wonder what the response on this board would be if whites were disparaged at an Obama rally. I think we'd never hear the end of it.

And you find this acceptable???

Wake up America: WOW Staffers Also Wear Sarah Palin C*nt T-Shirts

Please, first of all, do we know for sure these idiots even support McCain. For all we know they are voting for the white supremecist ticket or something. There are so many people running in this election, in case you didn't know. Why do we always jump to the assumption that someone is in support of the other party??? Granted, if it's at a rally, yes, we can assume they are supporting the person at the rally. However, I am only guessing on the KKK thing, since I can't get the clip.

I certainly don't think that represents all people supporting the McCain/Palin ticket, just like I think these yahoos wearing these shirts don't represent everyone supporting Obama.

Once again, pathetic tries at smearing.

Don't ya know the parents of those five students in the pic are so proud of their young ones?! But, now, remember, these young students are against McCain/Palin, so they are 'allowed' to do this. However, don't you DARE do anything that would go against Obama because he's so 'sensitive'.

You know, I think the entire democrat party is a little over sensitive, don't ya think??

I don't think the Democratic party is overly sensitive. You have to admit that these events keep happening at McCain-Palin rallies.

Did you know that the ATF busted up a skinhead plot to murder (by beheading) black children and to assasinate Obama? The plot was hatched in bright red Tennessee. Feds disrupt skinhead plot to assassinate Obama - Yahoo! News

To quote a recent remark, first of all, how do we know for SURE these idiots even support Obama? Finally, if you really want to see pathetic attempts at smearing, you might try reading some of the really ridiculous and off the wall posts made by republicans right here on this board. communism, socialism, anti-american, etc. If that's not ridiculous and reaching then I don't know what is.

Perhaps you did not see the link....because there were robed KKK people in the video; there were little girls saying they did not want a "monkey president" (their words), others using the n word, etc. AND they were all either wearing McCain buttons or carrying McCain signs. That wouldmake it a pretty positive assumption that they were McCain supporters....DUH!

Does not make anyone better. In my opinion it is all wrong.
Some Democrats only want to say that this type of stuff is ONLY from the Rep. McCain/Palin side.

I think that with the incendiary speeches and overtly racial materials that the campaign has put out against Obama that there's more than a kernel of truth in the display.

Wink

I must admit this election has certainly been one of the most ugliest election of all times. I totally believe alot of has to do with the status in which our country is in and as been due to the Bush Administration and all the many many bad things he did to us a nation. Yet not one simple Republican will even admit any of his wrong doings at all, totally shame... I am a proud Obama and BIden supporter all the way. However some points, I again am a very left winged liberal Democrat, however I have posted many times againist Clinton and Jfk . I have also posted in favor and liking very much the late Dr. Martin Luther King and General Colin Powell whom both are Republicans. There is not one single politican who is without wrong doings. There is not one single politican who is without fault. However I personally feel this election has gotten so so nasty and you cannot tell me that even though it is 2008, there still exists in our country Racism.. There are so many millions of people whom will not vote for Obama simply because of that fact and thats truly sad... I do not like any form of racism on any party whether it be for Republicans or Democrats its jsut plain nasty and rude and no form of it , should ever be allowed. The Republicans have linked Obama to so many acts of racism its not funny any more. In fact I am plain sick and tired of it. Yes of course there are going to be many African Americans voting for Obama simply because of the color of his skin. Again I believe this is wrong, you should be voting for your candidate because you want him to lead our nation, not by the color of skin. I also firmly believe there are many Republicans to still cannot admit to defeat as means of Bush Administration. Again so time overdue for a change and victory is so close only 8 more days.Catherine

How is it that the mannequin of Gov. Palin being HUNG by her neck is okay? Authorities were contacted and they said there was nothing wrong with it. Had this been a mannequin of Obama being hung, you'd be hearing cries of racism, how horrible it is and the residents of the house would more than likely be investigated by the FBI!!!! And it would be all over the news as a HATE CRIME!!

So typical.......

Not sure why I am being quoted in your post for something I did not say. (my only contribution so far to this post was to start it) But I will answer anyway. It is not ok that a mannequin of Palin was hung by its neck. Anything like this is a hate crime and should be taken as such and condemned by all.

Sarah Palin effigy hung by noose in Halloween display
A Halloween decoration showing a mannequin dressed as vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin hanging by a noose from the roof of a Los Angeles house has sparked outrage among Republican supporters.

The mannequin, which is dressed in brown wig, glasses and a red business suit, has been reported to police as a hate crime.

However, officers said the mannequin could not be considered a hate crime because it was part of a Halloween display.

Chad Michael Morisette, who lives in the house, defended the effigy, claiming it was art. Mr Morisette admitted it would be out of bounds at any other time of year.

He said: "It should be seen as art, and as within the month of October. It's Halloween, it's time to be scary it's time to be spooky."

Sgt. Kristin Aloma of the sheriff's department said that since Sunday she had received five to 10 calls from residents offended by the display. Officials are monitoring the house to make sure the situation doesn't get out of hand, she said.

"I'm not defending this; I'm not criticising it. It doesn't rise to the level of hate crime," said Steve Whitmore, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, who said he went out to the house himself to look at the display this morning. "Now, if there was a crime against bad taste . . . "

Mr Whitmore said that potential hate crimes are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. If the same display had been made of a Barack Obama-like doll, for example, authorities would have to evaluate it independently, he said.

The home's decorations also feature a doll of John McCain surrounded by "flames" in the chimney, and other more typical Halloween items, such as skeletons and spider webs.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (AP) ― A Halloween decoration showing a mannequin dressed as vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin hanging by a noose from the roof of a West Hollywood home is drawing giggles from some passers-by and gasps of outrage from others.

The mannequin is dressed in brunet wig, glasses and a red business suit. Another mannequin dressed as John McCain emerges from a flaming chimney.

Chad Michael Morisette, who lives in the house, told CBS 2 News that drivers and bus passengers have been stopping to snap pictures of the macabre scene.

Morisette says the effigy would be out of bounds at any other time of year, but it's within the spirit of Halloween.

He says "it should be seen as art, and as within the month of October. It's Halloween, it's time to be scary it's time to be spooky."

I corrected the link. The link I gave is to a blog (as I said before I get info. from everywhere, and verify it) It is about a couple of Obama supporters who entered a GOP campaign office and maced some workers. Lies??? Um, I guess it could be...... And, YES, I am sick of the sniping jabbing comments and the inflammatory comments being made. Someone posted about only McCain supporters doing crap like this, I posted the link to show this is not true.

Wait, didn't a Mccain supporter say a black man etched a "B" into her face and attacked her. Then admit she was lying about the whole thing.
