Are you voting early?

I went down yesterday and voted. My husband is going to be out of town working on election day next Tuesday, so he and I went down and voted at around noon. It took 10 minutes from start to finish, and that included our "wait" in line. We are in Georgia, and we had the electronic voting machines with the little credit card thing you stick in the machine to count votes. One poll worker said that other early polling places in our county were having two hour waits. The funny thing is that the location we were at was the "main" elections office for the county. Perhaps they were more efficient?

Did you vote early? If so, did you experience long wait times or any problems while you were there?
It will be interesting to hear others' experiences with early voting.

DH & I voted last Friday. It was about 25 minutes from the end of the line to walking out the door. The election worker said they are having about 2000 voting per day. They're saying next Tuesday is going to be crazy!

I wish once you voted you could stop all the politcal ads, phone calls & mail! I live on the Kansas side of the KS/MO border and Missouri is a swing state. I'm so over it all! I tell you the local elections are nastier than the national one.

Nope, I'm not voting early. I actually enjoy going to the polls on Election Day. I think it's an exciting process. To go early, to me that would be like trying to celebrate a holiday early. It's just not the same!

I read in the main Atlanta newspaper this morning that many counties in the metro Atlanta area had 8 hour waits yesterday, so we got pretty lucky getting in and out so quickly. There were people waiting until midnight last night to vote! It's amazing how many people are early voting this year.

mom2twins2: I usually like to go on election day, but since dh was going to be out of town, I decided to do it early. My kids are out of school for election day since their school is a polling place, so I am going to go and visit some friends and take the kids to see their grandma instead of waiting in the long voting line.

lisacb: I have heard it will be crazy next Tuesday too. I'm glad to see so many people getting interested in voting this time around.

I like voting at the polls on Election Day. I like getting that little red sticker that says, "I VOTED" and wearing it all day. I'm superficial that way.

I got the sticker when I voted last week. I wore it all day and felt special because I was the only one who had one. Guess I am superficial that way too.

I got a sticker for voting yesterday. DH's was still attached to his jacket when he left for his business trip today. I guess everyone in Texas will know that he voted too.

I always vote early, but in person rather than absentee, because I want the sticker.

The wait for early voting here is in the 2-3 hour range. The Supervisor of Elections was on the news last night and said that in order to accommodate the amount of voters that they would be adding more machines. Guess how many they added per site?? ONE! LOL!

I've never gotten a sticker. I should protest. I want to feel special too.

Thanks, I might just do that.

Since we will have our 8 year old grandson that day, (they so thoughtfully closed the schools), I am hoping that we can go when the lines aren't too long. I might have to put an "I voted" sticker on him as well. Mental note to self. Make sure the gameboy is fully charged.

I went down with a co-worker (she needed directions) and the wait was 20 minutes. She chose not to wait. I voted by absentee ballot and it was mailed yesterday.
