NH Towns Report First Presidential Vote Results

Drumroll:

DIXVILLE NOTCH, N.H. — The tradition of Dixville Notch and Hart's Location lives on.

The two tiny northern villages were poised to be the nation's first to cast — and report — their votes for president. With 115 residents between them, Dixville Notch and Hart's Location's get every eligible voter to the polls beginning at midnight on Election Day. Between them, the towns have been enjoying their first-vote status since 1948.

DIXVILLE NOTCH, New Hampshire (CNN) -- Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama emerged victorious in the first election returns of the 2008 presidential race, winning 15 of 21 votes cast in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire.

Sorry this is a bit messy. Trying to get a bit of history on the subject to add before the results.

Of course this is way way way too early to tell anything....I just thought it was interesting this little town makes history every 4 years as being the first to post results in a Presidential election.

Brought a small smile ... Ron Paul did get 2 write-in votes.

Obama wins in earliest vote in tiny NH town - Yahoo! News

"Democrat Obama defeated Republican John McCain by a count of 15 to 6 in Dixville Notch, where a loud whoop accompanied the announcement in Tuesday's first minutes. The town of Hart's Location reported 17 votes for Obama, 10 for McCain and two for write-in Ron Paul. Independent Ralph Nader was on both towns' ballots but got no votes."

Isn't it funny how even the smaller towns have voters who are undecided - voting for Ron Paul. I don't mean funny ha ha I mean it just shows how divided we are. What a great opportunity for everyone to show their support for their candidate.

I don't know that voting for Ron Paul means they were undecided. They may have decided a long time ago that they wanted to vote for him.
