Exclamation This might be a stretch around here -- MSNBC experiment

This morning I tuned into the "Morning Joe" on MSNBC and they did something I found interesting....

There were a lot of people in and out of the set, reporting for both sides and putting in their last 2cents. What was interesting is that they asked them to say one positive thing about the candidate they are NOT voting for. They asked, at the end of the day you might find that the guy you wanted lost -- so, what good to you see in the other guy?

I kinda liked this idea and thought that AFTER you've voted for your YOUR GUY, tell the rest of us one positive thing about the OTHER GUY. Afterall, in the spirit of "Change" and "Country First" after tonight, we should think about moving closer together and not further apart.

So, I challenge all of you to leave the drama for your mama and keep your snarky venom in your handbag, and tell me one good thing you can look forward to from THE OTHER GUY if he ends up being President tonight.

Now, I am off to vote. I'll check in and leave my positive thing after my ballot is cast.

I voted Republican ~

Nice thing about the other guy, Obama.
It was reported that he would call for even more environmental and labor standards in trade agreements than what are in place right now.

I really admired McCain in 2000 and hope that, all pandering aside, he's still that same man cuz I'd be okay with that.

Obama is a great speaker, and if he actually doesn't tax me more.. then I'll be happy.

Then why bother to respond if you aren't going to answer the question? Just skip over it; there's plenty of threads here. I think it's kind of sick to not be able to say one nice thing about any human being.....so I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, Catherine.

Peace out,

Why Catherine , because am I wrong, do we not live in a free nation to where we have freedom of expression , so why can I not have the freedom to choose not to say something nice about someone I feel will do the same thing Bush has done to use for the last 8 years??? And I agree with you to agree to disagree. However I have chosen not to use the peace lable I am associated with on this board because I was made fun of the usage of it on this board, so to end your post with peace out is just stirring the pot. Oh well...... Catherine

I will vote today after work.

Regardless of who I voted for--I believe that both candidates really do want to make a the world a better place (they just have different ideas on how to accomplish it). I believe that Obama is a visionary and has some really good ideas. I believe McCain is dependable, steadfast and devoted to his country.

WHOEVER wins I hope that they win w/ grace and humility, and whoever loses I hope they lose w/ grace and well wishes for the winner.

You have called me a immigrant. Also I bet your shaking your head right now at me. Anything else you want to say about me and you do not even know me, yet you think you do..I find it very interesting how you continue to post right under my posts,,, why ??? I did not say anything nasty about McCain so why must you continue to bother me and my posts. Go bother someone else... CAtherine

1) your grammer is atrocious
2) asking if English is your second language (inferring that you are an immigrant) is not a bad thing. I was just looking for an explanation for #1
3) I don't know you, never claimed to.
4) I read and posts to the threads that interest me. If you post in those threads, I may or may not respond. I don't go trolling the boards just to find your posts and post on them. When you post something so completely assinine you bet your sweet bippy I'm going to respond.
5) While I don't know you -see #4-, I pity you.
6) No, you didn't say anything nasty about McCain, but you couldn't even play along and post anything positive.

Ok, first of all, I will apologize to kelliiii for not keeping this post on topic (I did in my earlier post) but for the love of PETE!!! Catherine, this post was not yet ANOTHER opportunity for you to drool over Obam and Biden (get a room, quite frankly). This has been a very stressful time for our country, and the OP wanted to try and lighten the mood, and hopefully help us ALL bring this nation together, and dam if you don't throw your crap in here. You can't keep it out of JUST ONE THREAD??? JUST ONE, for crying out loud.

And, I have held my tongue up until now about your hideous spelling. Really, do you speak like that too??? Install some spell check on your computer or something, because you really are making yourself look like a complete buffoon.

There are many threads that I have nothing to add that relates to the topic of the thread, so I pass on posting there. Can you not comprehend what the topic of this thread is????

Really, you are a very irritating person on the internet. I hope you are not like this in real life.

It seems no one else on here has a problem putting all the cheerleading and campaigning aside. Why can't you???

You get points for trying. Seriously, there are several good things that can be said about both candidates. It's kind of amazing that some posters couldn't come up with anything.

What's funny, is that if I had to pick someone to go out and have an intelligent conversation with about the election and the future of the country....you would end up on the short list.

Maybe this is the end of the world as we know it.

LOL! I'm not sure if that was a compliment or a backhanded insult.

But let's go to Starbucks and demand McCafes and then when we're all hopped up on coffee we can go to the shooting range and exercise our 2nd Amendment rights. After that we can pick up a couple 40ouncers and go dumpster diving for coupons all the while debating Palin's wardrobe and Obama's middle name. It will be fun! LOL!

When Comedy Central approached McCain during the 2000 primary and asked him a stupid question about Bjork and Iceland, McCain didn't try to bluff his way through the question. Having never heard of Bjork beforem he stood there saying, "what?' while Cindy melted in laughter beside him.

I admired him for his honesty and the way he took a joke.

Unhappy

allinagust, thanks for the not so kind words, did you get a chance to see how Marilynk posted about how she could care less about my dead brother Sonny, so I guess thats ok with you also correct. Listen I have every right as all of you do to post about my personal feelings about this election. But Marilynk and some seem to think they totally own the boards and have gotten very nasty especially Marilynk to me.. I am not seeking pity however she has constantly put me done on my grammar, my spelling, she has pity for me, has told me that her 8 year son is smarter then me. I have not gotten nasty or make any rude remarks as she has. She said it herself she is blunt, blunt is not the word for her. She is mean and nasty and to call me a immigrant which i am not. To constantly complain about my grammar, I have had enough. But the bottom line which is all time low to say she could care less about a loved ones deceased brother is low low and out right mean. Catherine. edited I am truly sorry to all that this has gone way off topic..

Oh, I actually can say several things about McCain that are positive.

I thought he got a bad deal in 2000, and I respect the fact that he got his party's endorsement despite obstacles. It shows tenacity.

He was behind McCain-Feingold, which was a good start although not a complete solution.

He served as a POW, and suffered in the service of his country.

I think he is smart.

I thought that he was a riot on SNL, and during the Al Smith dinner. I like a politician who can poke fun at themselves.

He doesn't make me want to puke when I see him on TV. There are politicians who I cannot watch, because I cannot hear what they have to say because they infuriate me so. And for those politicians, my deep dislike of them interferes with how I evaluate their message. These politicians are those whose remarks I have to read. I can still watch McCain. And given how badly I want my candidate to win, that is probably the best compliment that I can give him.

What's so bad about being an immigrant? If you're not, then just say so,there's no reason to act like it's a horrible thing. Your attitude is offensive.

Back On-Topic: McCain has served his country honorably and has a great sense of humor.

Catherine, I did see Marilyn's post, and she did not say she could care less about your brother, I believe she was making reference to you constantly mentioning him, like the way you say "peace". I could be wrong, I'm not MarilynK.

Honestly, we have just had it, and for you to further say that you have not made rude remarks.....I'm sorry, I have to disagree with that. You are calling Palin rude names, and I'm sure you have referred to some posters here in a not so favorable light. I was being blunt and honest with you in my post. I was not trying to be hateful, but, I have just had enough. You just go on and on and on and on and on and on about some things. Yes, that' s your right to do so. However, you have to also accept that when you post on a public forum, the rest of us have a right to post what we want to post, as well.

Oh, ahoe nd aothat, nere ting. Hweoow do you lkei rtying to red tishs?? Could you read that??? Was it difficult to decipher?? That is what a lot of your posts are like trying to read them. It is like you type in code. I am seriously and truly NOT being mean or nasty, and like I said, I held my tongue for a long time. I did NOT want to blast you with that, but, I guess I have just had my fill of things lately.

If you truly are sorry to get off topic then stop posting about this nonsense and just carry on.

Back on topic now. He is knowledgeable of the workings of DC (that pertains to the VP actually)

Precisely AIA....

Back to topic:

McCain was pretty hot back in his naval academy days . . . and I think, underneath it all, down deep, he's a good man.

FTLOG! Seriously Catherine, do you know what a narcissist is? If not look it up. Believe it or not, not everything is about you. This thread was not about you, nor was it about your brother. Yet you had to come in here and make one of your nonsensical, rambling posts and somehow make a very nice thread all about you.

I normally just skip over your posts, because they're generally incomprehensible, but really, enough is enough. You've been asked to remove yourself from this thread, and you even said you would, yet you're still here. You're not sorry this has gone off topic, you deliberately took it there. You crapped on the thread and when you were called on it you took it straight to the only topic you really care about, the topic of Catherine.

You think Marilynk and allinaugust are mean? I think they've shown great self -restraint, along with many others on this board. It's a pity you don't have the same quality.

Back to the topic.....I like John McCain. He's smart and funny and I believe he truly has this country's best interests at heart even if disagree with the path he might take.

I believe that McCain is a man with a good sense of himself and has a good sense of humor. I actually admired him in the 2000 election and believed he got a raw deal.

Listen Allinaugust and Marilynk who made the two of you soooooooo perfect. When I posted about stating mean things about each other I was referring to posters saying mean things to each other. If you are going to bring up mean things or rude things I have said about Sarah Palin then everyone on this baord is at fault because we all have said mean things about the candidates. Now listen carefully I was referring to Marilynk and you who seem to have a serious issue with me. I am ssssssssssssssssssso sick of hearing about my grammar, sheesh did you girls graduate from Oxford in England or something. What makes the 2 of you soooooooo perfect. I do not think the world revolves around me, you think you know it all and that by keep posting you will get the best of me, you will not. I have been called so many names its not funny. Although you ladies seem to think your soooooo perfect, I think you ladies need to take a serious look into the mirror. You know I have totally had it with all your nastiness, rudeness and if you do not like me talking about my brother and for Marilynk to even bring that up, its a serious low blow. The bottom line is not me .When people as yourself continue to bring negativity to the boards, there is a reason behind it and for that ladies I have pity on you . On a final note for the last time, if you do not like my grammar then do not read my posts. Plain and simple and the frown on your faces,,,,, Goodbye I have given enough of my time to some sad mean people......Catherine

Red face

I did want to refrain from to continue to stop posting on this thread , however some posters continued to post about me. So what am I to do. Just let them continue to to trash me . I said I was sorry and said I would not post, but yet other posters decided to add their negative remarks and thats okay right, I have to take them, you offer them no wrong doing, only me. Like I said I said I was sorry and would not post, then why could it not end there, they added the fuel to the fire , not me stop blaming me... Catherine

I think that McCain's service to the his country was awe inspiring. I think he truly wants what he believes is best for America. I thought he was hilarious at the AI dinner.

In addition, I think Palin seems like someone I could go out and have a great time at lunch with (as long as we didn't talk politics, lol).

Okay - I voted McCain. However, Obama does appear to be a good husband and father and I commend him on that!
