How long in line

I waited for 2 hours in line. Line moved fast and people were very nice in line and the workers were very nice also. They said "thank you for taking the time to vote" which I really appreciated.

Was done in less than 20 minutes here. Weather here is GORGEOUS!!! A Great Fall Day!

Our polling place is very well organized and the workers were making the line flow more quickly by letting people immediately go to the table of the first letter of their last name. (i.e. A-F, G-L, M-R, S-Z) and that helped move it quicker.
I only saw three people intructed they had come to the wrong polling place and where the real place they should go. I saw one man say he only had 10 minutes and would come back later. I saw one couple fill out their ballots standing to the side waiting for a booth to come open. They were finished and left the quickest.

X

Hard to believe that historically only about 50% of the people who live in the U.S. exercise their right to vote.
It is a privilege not to be taken for granted!

My Mom went and no line at all. She got right in. I had to wait about 30minutes. I am going with my husband and son when they get home from work, about 3. I hope they dont have a long line. I am going with them because it is the first time voting for both of them. My son just turn 18 this year and my husband all my preaching finally paid off....lol.

It took longer for me to walk from my parking spot into the polling place than it did to vote. There was no line for my district and a small line of about 8-10 people for one of the other districts that vote in this library.

We have a few polling places in my town. At mine I got right in. I drove by one of the others and the line was down the street and around the corner.

I got in line at 6:45 and got out at 11:35, It was cold and rainy and numerous people were waiting in line both behind and in front of me. Everyone was polite and I took my 18 year old son with me for the first time to vote. He was so excited to cast his vote and become a part of history.

We went just before 10 and it was about 25 or 30 minutes from start to finish, but we had a very long ballot. There were 38 things we had to vote on and that takes a while. A lot of confusing things as well, since the powers that be decided to have state prop C and then there was county prop C right below it. The county also had prop 1 right above prop I.

I heard as man as I was leaving who had gotten there at 6 this morning to find the lines running up and down all the corridors on the main level of the school and decided to leave and come back. Wise move for those who can do it.

Man, my polling place was empty - my husband and I went at 10:30 and not a voter in site. I have never seen it like that - must have had a LOT of early voters in my area.

I haven't gone yet but I've driven by a few this morning. I didn't see any huge lines. Where I did see a huge crowd though and I mean huge, was the new gas station that Sarah Palin's sister and BIL own. There was a crowd and two cop cars, etc. I guess maybe a news crew was there or something to draw such a large crowd. Life in the fast lane here in Anchorage, lol.

It took me about 15mins. . . .only waited in line for about 10mins. However, the line for last names from M-Z was about twice as long as the one I stood in.

While I was standing in line there was a woman voting in one of the little cubbies, obviously there with her mom, who said, "Hey Mom, do you have a coin I could flip. I have no idea how I should vote."
That irritated me just a little bit.

No waiting at all. I spent more time talking to my friends who were poll workers than waiting to vote.

DH went this morning and he waited about 10 minutes. The poll workers said it was really busy early this morning and they're looking for it to be really busy from 3:00 to 7:00.

20 minutes for me, and I was there when the polls opened at 7. I have voted in this same polling place for 10 years---have never seen so many people--and YEAH majority were Obama voters from discussions after exiting. Looking positive! BTW, I would have stood in line for 5 hours or whatever it took to cast my vote for Senator Obama. 5 hours is nothing in comparison to the last eight years of he!! we are trying to move on from.

We voted at 7:30 this morning and were out within 10 minutes. They said at that point turnout was already at a record high for our township between absentee ballots and who had been there already.

Numbers have been reported high at all polling places in our county and one place ran out of ballots already.

This is a HUGE republican area, so it will be interesting to see how it shakes out tonight.

It took me 90 minutes to vote, and it was a record based on the 18 years that I have voted in this district. However, I just drove passed the polling place, and it doesn't look like there is a line anymore.

I think that you might have missed Governor Palin. She stopped by her sister's Chevron business today.

we got there at 530 this morning, and they opened @ 6. We left @ 715. NOT b/c there were TONS of people, but b/c the woman and man who were checking names were so incredibly old (I swear, I'm not kidding) that it took them about 6 min per person vs the people doing others.

I heard one time that the average age of poll workers was somewhere in the 70s.

Well, I think the 70 year olds were the ones going fast. Seriously, these 2 were OLD. Like they were around when dinosaurs walked the earth. But it's ok. They were doing their best and they didn't mess up or anything. Slow and steady wins the race.
