How long did you stand in line? It took me an hour. I got there at 9:45.

Less than 5 minutes. I went at about 9am.

I waited about 10 minutes. If I would have waited to go till this afternoon, I don't think there would have been a line, since by the time I left, there were only 3 people in line (there were 10 in line when I got there this morning). I couldn't take that chance, though, since I wanted to go without the kids (in case of long lines) and because I have to work.

Polls opened here at 7 a.m - I got in line at 6:40 at our local elementary school, and there were about 50 people ahead of me. Finished voting at 7:30, so one hour 10 minutes from start to finish. Better than the 3.5 hour wait on our last day of early voting last week.

There was no line at all for me. As a matter of fact, there were several empty polls. I went around noon. I was pleasantly surprised. DH went to the same place around 8am and waited an hour and a half.

Our county only does mail in ballots, so no wait in line for me.

I hear that some of the lines were long though

No line for me at 10am. It had been busy, and they thought starting at 3:30 or 4 it would start getting busy again.

No line for me at 10:00am, but it was hard to get through the parking lot because of all the people-holding-signs activity and parking lot issues - the lot was like the mall at Christmas time!

1 hour 10 minutes and after I got there at 9:15 the line was up to a 2 hour wait. It was this way from 6:00AM until I left at 10:20 AM. I'm not sure how it is now but when I passed another church in my area the line was out the door and down the parking lot (different district from mine). I am very pleased to see everyone out in full force.

I was shocked...I went about 1:10 p.m. and there was only one man in front of me...It took me only five minutes...So much for the hype. I'm glad I went today and didn't wait for five hours to vote early. ~Lisa

Only about 5 minutes here on Long Island. My line (were were separated by districts--we had in our school, 2 gyms open, and in each gym three districts) had only 2 people ahead of DH and I. I asked my friends (they worked there) and they said that there were never really big crowds since there were so many voting areas open in Nassau County.

About 50% or registered voters in my county have already voted. I still expected some wait, so I showed up with muffins, and books for my kids, and they waited longer for me to fill out the ballot than we waited in line! Yipee!!

I arrived at the polls at 8:10am, and had no line, no wait. I was in and out in 2 minutes.

I waited about 10 minutes, when I left there were probably about 20 people in line.

I live in a major city, so there is always a wait. I got there at 2:40 (had to work until 2). I left at 5:15. So 2 hours and 35 minutes. In 2004, I waited for over three and a half hours, so this was fantastic.

They were much more organized this time around. They even passed out water and donuts (for free) and had snacks to purchase when we got into the holding / verifying precinct room.

I got there and was finished in 10 minutes. I spent more time re-checking my votes than actual voting.

I waited in line for 1 1/2 hours. Apparently the voting precinct lady in charge was either having a bad day or she was just a hag to start with. Wow is all I can say about her. I was put into the wrong line, given the wrong number, and given the wrong ballot, etc. I was on the receiving end of her rudeness, and I also witnessed her rudeness to several others--rudeness is putting it nicely on my part. She was a real pill which made the wait seem like forever. I'm thinking of calling and complaining about her but where to call?! No sense for that sort of nonsense, and I voted around noon, so she still had a very long day ahead of her. Geez. I mean, if you don't want to do the 'job' (isn't it volunteer with a small pay? I believe here in this small town it is anyway.) then don't sign up--it's one day (of course I know they have to go through numerous trainings to prepare for the day). I mean, if she can't handle dealing with the public....and everyone in line while I was there was polite and very well mannered, even no problem from any of the kids.

I believe in my city the pay is about $70 for the day.
