But he is not an African American. Please remember he is half black/half white.

As one person put it, he isn't either. He is our President. No race about it. Except, of course, the one he won.

It wouldn't matter at all if previous Presidents had mixed race heritages if it was kept secret from the public.

Ya know, I think it would help enormously if people dropped the titles they use to describe themselves. When you travel abroad and are asked what you are, you don't say, Oh, I'm Italian-American, or Japanese-American. You're American.

I think the word American signifies that you are "mixed", meaning pretty much no one here doesn't have ancestry elsewhere. I know my relatives came here thru Ellis Island.

If you're skin color is black, so be it. Your skin color isn't African-American. Is there something wrong with saying a person is black?
