Is this the governor? I'm not familiar with her, but, I do know the status of Michigan is not very good. Lots of automakers cutting jobs, etc.

There are quite simply no jobs that you can support a family on. Unemployment rates keep going up, we are currently at 8.7%. second highest in the nation. Granholm has done nothing positive for the economy here. If he wanted to tap her so badly, let her do health and human services, at least she is relatively good at that. From a grassroots site I visit. (As far as I can check the list is accurate) "Let's see, we're in a deep hole, so lets round up a committee of those types that got us there (for the most part) and see what we get for advice Obama's Economic Advisory Team: David Bonior: former 13-term Michigan Congressman Warren Buffett: billionaire CEO of Berkshire-Hathaway Roel Campos: Washington Att’y, former SEC commission member, former broadcasting exec William Daley: former Commerce Sec., JP Morgan Chase exec William Donaldson: former SEC Chairman Roger Ferguson Jr.: CEO of TIAA-CREF, former Federal Reserve vice-chairman Jennifer Granholm: Gov of Michigan Anne Mulcahy: CEO of Xerox Richard Parsons: CEO of Time-Warner, Citigroup board member Penny Pritzker: Hyatt Corp executive Robert Reich: former Labor Sec Robert Rubin: CEO of Citigroup, former Treasury Sec. Eric Schmidt: Google CEO Lawrence Summers: Former Treasury Sec. Laura D’Andrea Tyson: former Chair of the President’s Council of Economic Advisors & National Economic Council Antonio Villaraigosa: Mayor of Los Angeles Paul Volcker: Former Federal Reserve Chairman |

She is a rather odd choice to highlight.

Who would YOU suggest he include -- besides Ron Paul, I mean. My bet is that if he didn't include a bunch of business people, you'd be griping that he should have. We get it -- everything Obama does is wrong. Now you know how the rest of use felt about Bush.

I don't know much about her, except that she must know Michigan and Obama/Biden must have gotten to know her because she helped Biden prep for the debate. Michigan is a unique state due to how the downturn in the auto industry and sending jobs out of the country has affected the population, which has one of the highest unemployment rates in the US. So, I would think the Gov of that state is pretty well versed on what works and what doesn't work in a state that has been drastically affected by modern changes in the workplace. I have no idea otherwise, and I really don't care at this point until I see some sort of outcome. Not like my opinion will matter right now. |

Nouriel Roubini Peter Schiff Both of these men had predicted that the housing bubble crisis and the developing economic slowdown was going to occur a couple of years ago. We should at least listen to what these people are saying and their ideas about how to proceed. |

And, how do you know they aren't being listened to. I will take your word that they predicted the problems we are in now. Does that mean they would know how to get us out of it? One can only have so many people on an advisory team. Perhaps Obama knows these two people and doesn't like them? I don't know and I find it hard to imagine that you do at this point. |

wow so now Obama choose Jennifer Granholm and once again all the republicans think its a bad choice. Its seems like whomever Obama is choosing to help him run our country every single one of you finds faults with the person.. So let me get this straight Jennifer Granholm no good, not enough experience,,, but yet You were willing to vote for Sarah Palin???????? what who is so out there in space... GIve me a break.... Like it not OBama will be the president and he will choose who he deems responsible, its his decision, as was you much beloved Bush;s to decide who helped him and we all know now where all that help took us..... I wouldn't give a rats ass who was president. If they picked Granholm for this position, I would still think they were being unwise. Like I said, she is good at some things like health and human services, but ecomonic issues.... no. Oh, and Bush is not beloved by me, nor am I a republican. |

Warner is not a lawyer, he wasn't in politics before becoming governor. He's a self-made millionaire business owner and he ran the Commonwealth of Virginia like a business. He's a very smart man. |

| Actually, Mark Warner graduated from Harvard Law in 1980. He worked on Capitol Hill for Chris Dodd for a while. He managed Doug Wilder's gubernatorial campaign in 1989, was the chair of the Virginia Democratic Party, and ran for the Senate himself in 1996, all before before running and winning the governorship in 2001. I agree he's a smart man. I had hoped he would run for president himself this time.

I don't think you can accurately say ALL Republicans think it's a bad choice. Personally, I don't know enough about the woman to say one way or another. Isn't that "ALL" mentality what we're trying to get away from??? Ya know, "you're a Republican (fill in any other word) so you must not like her (again, fill in another word).
