Some of the older single day & hopper tickets (prior to Magic Your Way) do not have the finger scan requirement and any totally unused ticket would not have the finger scan on it yet. However, unless they are the really, really old tickets where they stamped them with the date when you used them, there is no way to tell how many days are left on a ticket without taking it to Disney and having them scan it and tell you (they won't tell you over the phone, but they will tell you at Guest Services at the parks), so you could easily get scammed and be out a lot more money than you would just buying new passes.
