| Locked out in SE IOWA
Hi Everyone, My name is kelli and I am a mother of 3 and a sahm. My husband and his union has been locked out by their employer since Sept. we were doing alright with money and food until march 31st, when we welcomed our 3rd child Maddy into our family. Its getting pretty expensive buying diapers for 2 small kids.. my child are 4,2, and of course 1 month old. We are starting to fall behind on bills, we have sold everything we can afford to sell, and so now im turning to you all to help me figure out this couponing thing. Thank you so much kelli |

Hi Julie, I understand your situation. Times are tough and every penny counts now more than ever. I recently started to coupon and think that I'm getting addicted. Now understand I'm not an extreme couponer like they feature on TLC's tv show, but I do try to save my family money on everyday items. I always start by checking online for printable grocery coupons. http://www.mycoupons.com/printable-grocery-coupons.html These coupons rotate about once a month, so check back for new items. You can sort through your Grocery Store Flyers and match the items up and start saving. Inserts: Coupons can be found as an insert found in your Sunday newspaper. ** Most people throw away the inserts if they don’t find what they are looking for immediately.** Some of the coupons have longer expiration dates. It pays to keep them organized. Blinkies: We call them blikies because you can find these coupons by pulling them from the “blinking” machines at the grocery store next to the item that’s on sale. Tear-Pads: These Coupon Pads are typically found on special displays at the grocery store. Peelies: These coupons are stuck to the actual product. (Two days ago I found a $1.00 peelie on Keebler Rainbow Cookies making them $1.50 per pack!) Home Mailers: These coupons are sent directly to your mailbox. (Valpak) I’m not going to overwhelm you, so I’m going to stop there and provide more information later. Now that you have your eyes open for coupons, I’m sure that you’re going to see them everywhere. You can get your feet wet by starting small, and working your way up from here. Why pay retail, when you can get it on sale. When I can’t find it on sale I usually check the price of the store brand and go from there… I hope this helps a little. Imaddicted2coupons
