??? I'm confused

Help!

I have posted "freebies" in the past and have been (pm'd) if I have posted a site for a freebie that had already been posted.

Then, there is a "sticky" at the top of this forum asking that everyone please do a "search" before posting a "freebie" offer.

My question is...At what time are we allowed to post a "freebie" that has already been posted in the past? Meaning, if a month has gone by since the original post of the freebie, are we then allowed to post it again?

Example:

Biofreeze sample was posted today; however, a biofreeze sample (to the exact same website) was posted 8/15/07. Can we then assume that the "original" post is dead, and we can post it like a "new" offer?

Please help.

Also, the free Tide (Naturals) has been posted numerous times. Is it okay that it is posted as a "new" offer time and again?

TIA,
Holly

I've never received a PM about reposting something, so I'm not sure about that. Probably one of the mods can answer it for you.

You mentioned the Tide Naturals. I agree with you on that one because I clicked on the 'new' one posted and it's actually the old one because the site said I had already received my freebie.

I agree that it is kind of confusing. I have done searches for my freebies and don't post them because they have already been posted, just to have someone else post it. Perhaps if we just "bump" the link up after searching that would work?
Being new here, I think the rules aren't very concise about how to post, if "bumping" is allowed, are repeats okay if the post was made months ago....

To answer your questions....Please try to remember if possible to search to see if the freebie is already posted, this way it keeps the board from getting cluttered with double posts of an offer. You can bump up freebies, no matter when they were posted. If a freebie post is older than 30 days, please feel free to post it again.
I hope this clears everything up.......... I have deleted my previous post..... and reposted this ..

Thanks, Karrie

So, is it okay then if we post a "freebie" that is not on the 1st or 2nd page? That may make it easier to understand.

Also, I do know that some will "slip" by. When I am posting "freebies", I'm usually on a roll with at least (5) to post. Excitement can get the best of me, and I post the "freebie" if it "looks" new. For that I apologize. I haven't always "checked" the archives, as it can be tedious when cutting and pasting sites to visit; however, I've been trying to "follow the rules".

My vote would be that if it's not on the 1st or 2nd page, it's okay to post it again for someone that missed the offer.

Isn't 3 months too long?
Some freebies are gone LONG before that!

Okay...
Just to clear this up for myself. It isn't okay to bump a thread that has been posted a couple of weeks ago...or is it?
Also, I understand that this forum is easier to navigate if there aren't tons of repeats...but, like I said is it okay to bump threads (as opposed to posting it again) that are less than two months old if it is freebie you haven't seen or think others haven't seen either?
I am not trying to be a PITA. Just trying to understand better!

Diamond, this is what I post up above. Thanks, Karrie
