This one seems a bit scarey. On the top there is a picture of Huggies baby wipes, with Martha Baby wipes in little blocks. After you fill out the form the screen says they are in no way connected with Huggies, and list a name of MARSHA baby wipes.

Unfortunately I sent for these wipes and clicked on the link to confirm a few days ago. I've been reading on another board that people have written and said their computers have a virus from this site. Well I've ran Spybot, Norton 360, Windows Defender, and an online scan. I even checked the phish filter for the site and it said the site has not been reported for phishing. All have come back and said there are no threats. Do you think my computer is safe? I'm paranoid. Does a phish site get all my information other than what I've gave them to get the wipes? What about passwords for other sites? I looked up phishing on wiki but I'm not sure I understand it. TIA

Most fake freebie sites want your email address, since those can be sold to spammers. That's annoying, but it's not going to hurt your computer. A recently updated virus scanner should show any problems, and if you don't see any viruses reported, but your computer's acting oddly, that can generally be fixed too. If this site isn't asking for a credit card (or it is, and you didn't give it), passwords, or other secure information like that, I wouldn't worry. A simple online form can't take any more information than you choose to give it.
