We did this (and it does seem like a great deal) but shoe rental was $4.50 ea, so it wasn't exactly a free afternoon of entertainment for the kids.

We signed up our daughter for this and we bought the $23.95 family pass where the remaining 4 of us can bowl two games a day with her. Our local bowling alley is honoring the coupons through September 30th!

Because I knew shoe rental was not included (although at some locations it is - so call and ask!) and I was the only one with bowling shoes (having bought them for $7.50 during a KMart clearance I found mentioned on this site about 6 years ago!), I bought everyone else new or almost new bowling shoes on eBay for about $25 each. So just 10 times of bowling and the shoes will have been paid for - plus my boys have stopped growing and they bowl with their friends on occasion - so now they have their own shoes to use which will save them money in the future.

My daughter has bowled almost 10 times so far with two or more of us. So it was all money well spent...and we are getting better at bowling. (Maybe I can try without the bumpers next time!

We appreciate the heads up on this.

I bought the family pass -- My husband thought he could take the girls before he headed for work (by 11am) and if didn't, then I could after I get off of work.

Well, we went down there on the Monday (the day after I signed up) and the bowling place was closed on Mondays (yet, a coupon printed for that day) and then to beat that -- they don't open until 4pm!!! You can only use the coupon until 7pm so that meant only during those 3 hours (and the place was next to a concrete company -- it was a dump).

I was p.o.'d so I wrote the company right away to cancel. Which it sounds like, per my credit card company they did put a credit thru -- but I got no response from them (the bowling company).

**** So if you do do this -- check out the times and the place FIRST. Also, it sounds like buying your shoes is a better deal --- if you can get them cheap.

Our family is sticking to the bowling place nearer to us that allows all kids one free game everyday until Aug. 31st. If my husband or I bowl -- we will just pay (it's not too expensive).
