I love BunkerHill Chili with no beans for my hot dogs. I grew up on it when we lived in NC and GA. When living in NC we just picked it up at the store while in GA we stocked up on our visit to NC. I have even had my mommy ship my Chili to Turkey! <G> I think all other can chili taste like dog food smells but that is just me.
I didn't realize that DH liked the chili until years after we were married. I recall flipping out on him for gasp making a late night snack of chili fries with my precious chili. LOL, ok so I was getting low and knew I wouldn't be able to replish my supply for a while.
My can get the Chili locally so I stock up when I visit her. I bought Dukes Mayo last trip but DH would rather have Mircal Whip. |

I can't get Open Pit barbeque sauce unless I have the store order me a whole case. I have a brisket recipe that I use it in & haven't been able to find another barbeque sauce that I like as well for that recipe. A while back I thought I'd found it at Big Lots, but it was a different flavor...had too much smoke taste to it.

I myself cant think of anything I guess because I have lived in the same state all my life but my BF, he misses beenie weenies, they are baked beans with little hot dogs in them, and I'm not sure the brand but we can not find them here in NJ, so when we go to Alabama or someone visits us from there they always bring them for him

When I was in Jr. High/High School, I loved Begaldogs. I can't find them anywhere here. And the Eggo Waff-fulls, they were those eggos with the jam in the middle of them, yum yum.

Turkey Hill ice-cream, any flavor, but especially the Southern Lemon Pie! And bagged up already cleaned crawfish meat that you can buy in Walmart, grocery stores, etc., down south.

Does anyone know where to find 7-Up candy bars (not like the soda)? Also, I'm looking for Empress Cincinnati style chili. I used to be able to find it in central KY, but now I can't find it. It is awesome.
I don't know if any of you have ever tried them or not, but Grippo's BBQ chips are the best on the planet. They are sweet and spicy. If you ever get a chance to try them, you'll love them.

Any Hostess snack cakes. IMO they are much better than Little Debbie and whatever the other ones are around here. Whenever we go on vacation (to another state) we grab 'em up.

When I was in NC I missed Tastykake. I was able to find a gas station in Mooresville that had them occasionally, so every few weeks the kids and I drove the hour and a half to get our Tastykake. I think the woman who worked there thought we were crazy cause we would by so many. When I was there I also missed Taylor Pork Roll.
The only thing I miss is Stouffers tortillini with peas and bacon. I loved that stuff but they no longer make it and also when I was younger Hellmans made this sandwich spread called Big H (it was like the big mac sauce) I loved that and its been gone for years

Sue Bee Chicken and Dumplings I believe that is what they are called. I used to get them down home all the time. Now living up North I can't find chicken dumplings to save my life. They look at me like I have 8 heads if I even ask about them. Thank god for Cracker Barrel I can get my fix when I go there.
Road side boiled peanuts. Again a southern thing they don't have up north
Edited to say I think the name of the Chicken and Dumplings are Sweet Sue not Sue Bee now that I think of it.

Mr. Goudas. It's a Canadian brand of very cheap, very good food, found in the 'ethnic' section of most cheaper grocery stores there, and they make EVERYTHING, from jerk sauce to rice pudding, all with interesting packaging. Actually, most of the Canadian store brands are really good, though some are high-end enough to cost more than the standard brands.

Drakes cakes ( Funny Bones especially , they are peanut-butter cream filled chocolate cakes with choc. coating, YUM!)
Cains Mayo and relish, HooMee Chow Mein mix, Chourico links/patties,etc (Portuguese sausage)
These seem to be New England things only
also, Waleeco candy bars ( no longer made)
Jolly Rancher stix ( flattened Jolly ranchers , sort of look like hard air-heads but had great flavors like Pink Lemonade, Pineapple, Fire (hot cinnamon), etc... There was quite a resale business for these in my high school....lol They were 10 cents each at the local mom and pop store and they would sell them in school for a quarter.....lol |
