Newegg.com. I think we paid about $60 less than the same camera would have been at Best Buy. And that included shipping.

You can find a digital camera in all price ranges, whta you pay really depends on what features you want.

I bought a Kodak Easy Share a couple of years ago and I hate this camera. It doesnt take good pictures indoors or far away. Indoor pictures are always too dark and zoom pictures are fuzzy. I think the best thing to do is use some of your friends camera and ask around.

I just bought a Sony Alpha Digital SLR camera yeasterday online and I cant wait for it to get here. Digital SLR are big but they take great pictures and for me they are worth the money.
I have a film SLR camera that I love but who use film any more LOL

Try Staples B&M. I got a Canon for DS's birthday for $99. It's an awesome little camera. They had several different models on clearance (last years model, I guess) for around $100.

If you are looking to compare prices, check out Compare prices for retail store sales at SalesCircular I use it all of the time when I'm looking for a sale. It has sale items that are in store circulars.

I spent a lot of time researching digital cameras last week.

I found that on wolfcamera.com I could get a camera without paying sales tax.
They carry a lot of nikons.
They don't however, carry the camera that I am looking for.
But I want a casio exilim z200 and they are apparently hard to find.

For a digital camera I also want insurance that covers me dropping the camera.
It's going to happen.
I drop everything eventually.
Well, I never dropped my last camera, but I only used it a few times before it stopped working.
We had several digitals that just stopped working for no apparent reason.
Mine, my son's and my daughter's.

At Sams the insurance apparently only covers usual wear and tear...which I am thinking is not what I want.

The guy at Wolf said that their insurance is basically no questions asked.

And the folks in cameras at Circuit City didn't know anything about cameras or insurance.
I went back later and talked to yet another person who knew nothing.
The computer section there is helpful...talking to the camera folks was a waste of time.

CC has a no questions asked insurance for $94.99 for 4 years and basic for $49.99 for 4 years. My DD has bad luck with cameras. I bought a 2 year last time I bought her a camera and the shutter stopped working 4 months after the 2 year mark. Hubby just picked up a camera for her plus the 4 year no question asked insurance.
