Hump day dinner?

Well, my sister is already at the hospital, being induced, so I think I will be picking something up on the way to see her. I will pick up my nieces, stop and get some dinner, stop for flowers, then go meet the newest family member.

However, I am trying to lose weight, so I'm thinking it might be 2 fresco tacos from Taco Bell.

What are ya'll having?

I have so much running around to do after work, getting ready for my parents 50th wedding anniversary party this Saturday (that my sister and I are putting on) so I think I'm going to stop by Little Ceasar's and get some pizzas and breadsticks.

Let us know all the details of the new little one coming soon!!!

I got my coupons a couple weeks ago for the KFC Grilled Chicken dinners, so we'll be having that tonight. Free for all 4 of us - can't beat that!

Looks like we're all having a night off from the kitchen! I'm pick up my new (to me) car from the dealer tonight so we'll probably stop and get something quick. Wendy's is the only fast food we eat, so that will probably be it.

I'm getting a 2007 BMW 328xi - it only has ~20k miles on it and has a great warranty on it.
I'm excited!

That's awesome! I love those cars! Enjoy!

DH has been looking at cars, too. Looks like he's leaning towards the Infiniti G37X. We'll see.

Wow, looks like a lot of you are getting the night off ... I'm jealous!

We're having the Pioneer Woman's Spicy Barbecued Shrimp, baked potatoes, and home made garlic rolls to soak up all the shrimp sauce. I know, I know, I need a green veggie with the meal ... maybe I'll make some green beans.

Breaded pork steaks
Fried corn
Spinach fettucine noodles
Sliced tomatoes

For dessert, we'll stop at the local ice cream stand after youngest DS baseball game.

Ended up making penne with sauce (from a jar ), garlic toast, and zucchini. Nothing special but better than fast food for sure!

Hello ladies!

My new little niece made her appearance this afternoon, weighing 6 lbs 5 oz. She spent about an hour in the NICU, but then was pronounced healthy and happy.

CJ, congrats on your car. I drive a 318i convertible and love it! They have such fantastic resale value, too.

Since this IS a cooking board, I will tell you that I ended up getting my nieces personal pan pizzas from Target while we were buying flowers, rattles, and new dresses for them to wear to the hospital and I had a turkey sandwich. Very exciting!

Congratulations Aunt Kim! Glad to hear the baby is doing well....scary to have her go into the NICU, for sure. New dresses to wear to the hospital??? Sounds like you are an awful sweet aunt.

Janenga - I bet planning a 50 anniversary party is a bit like doing a wedding. Oi! Probably the best advice that I could give from that experience is to not sweat all the litle things....your guests won't notice. Good luck!

Linda - it is a beautiful thing...love it. I drive a stick-shift and there just aren't that many out there in the type of car that I was looking for. I guess Americans prefer to talk on the phone and eat drive-thru food. So, I jumped on this one when I saw it and am happy. Had the BEST salesman too. (How often can a person say that about a car salesman??)

LGC - the new cafe...without the fighting....LOL

The plans are going well. This is the first party like this I have planned. Originally I was thinking maybe 50 people tops, well...it's up to 80+ that are coming!!! My sister and her family arrive this afternoon so I'll be glad to have a helper. Took me a few weeks to write up the invitation...it HAD to be clever you know. Plus I am re-creating their wedding cake, I'm taking tomorrow off so I can have the whole day (well, afternoon, in the morning my sis and I are shopping for the little stuff we need) to decorate it. I happened to stumble upon a pic of my parents cutting their wedding cake...I will make it an exact duplicate, right down to the swans on the pillars. The only change will be gold leaves instead of white or silver, can't tell what color they were originally (sepia toned print). Plus tomorrow I have to get 6-7 beef roasts cooking for beef on weck. I'm sure whatever happens everyone will have a good time....they will at least get a nice belly full of food!

And congrats on the new baby Auntie!!!
