Christmas Cookie Question

I want to make Christmas cookies and send them to some friends and relatives who live in all parts of the country.
How do I know how long cookies will keep?
I have several recipes that say to store at room temperature for 3 days or in the freezer for 3 months. If I send cookies and it takes longer than 3 days to reach the person and they take a few days to eat them, am I giving gifts of "bad" cookies?

In my experience, the best cookies to send are oatmeal or chocolate chip. Other cookies, like sugar cookies or shortbreads always worry me because they can fall apart. Bar cookies or brownies work too. I wrap each one individually, pack them in a tin (nice tins are $1 at the dollar stores) and before I put the lid on, I add a piece of bubble wrap.

They always get where they are going in one piece.

Good luck!

Hey Catt,

It's been a long time since I've seen you on the boards. Still love making your recipes, though!!!! Sticky chicken is a big deal at our house and the time for pumpkin dump cakes is rapidly approaching. Hope you're doing well!
