| Applesauce instead of Vegetable Oil??
Is there any instance when the vegetable oil is totally necessary for the recipe to work? I want to make some banana nut muffins, but would love to use applesauce instead of vegetable oil to reduce the fat in them (DH is on a diet). Thanks!!

They turned out yummy! I can taste a difference, but it is not major. And totally worth it, as the fat grams are so much lower with the applesauce!

My mom does this all the time and her cakes and breads always come out so good and so moist. Sometimes when I cook with just the oil if I don't have applesauce on hand, then sometimes my cakes seem kind of dry...never have figured that one out lol.
