Tuesday's Dinner

I bought a couple roasts on sale when I was in the mood for one about 3 weeks ago, and then the weather got warm, so I froze them. Today the weather is cool, windy, cloudy & misty, so I've got a roast thawing that I'm going to cook this afternoon with potatoes & carrots.

What are you all having?

Lisa

We're having goulash tonight. I want to stop at the grocery store on my way home to pick up another turkey at $.39/pound (with an additional $25 purchase), so I'll get some garlic bread and maybe a salad to go with it.

They were .40/lb. here with a $25 purchase. I split my Thanksgiving shopping in half so I could get 2 of them! Pretty good deal - 12 pound turkey for under $5! We'll eat off that for a week, then make soup from the broth! Chicken broth for 45 cents, canned veggies for 37 cents, Cool Whip for 77 cents, cake mixes for 77 cents. Pretty easy to get to $25! I'm pretty well stocked up for a while!

This will be my second 25 pounder ... I got one on Sunday too. And since I took tomorrow off to cook, I'll probably make another trip or two then (I think I have 4 or 5 turkey breasts in the freezer too), so we should eat good this winter.

My store doesn't have as many other good deals, but some that are good enough I can stock up on baking supplies and other stuff I need anyway and probably spend $75 pretty easily.

We got ours for $.27 per pound. I don't really "need" one and I didn't want this 25 pound one, but it was the smallest they had! I was happy to be able to fit it in my freezer, quite frankly.

I don't know what I'm making for dinner. I'm kind of grumpy - having a tough day at work. I'm a recruiter and I'm trying to close out a job and I'm stuck at $2,500! We've had this job for forever and the client won't pony up $65,000 instead of $62,500 and I don't think I can close this as $62,500. UGH!!!

I'll be having a glass of wine at dinner, I can assure you of that.

Tonight for dinner I made B/S chicken breasts, with cream of mushroom soup & a box of Butternut squash soup...I told my son it was made with cream of potato soup, and he ate 4 ! As a side dish, I baked sweet potatoes.

I recruit for most jobs associated with diagnostic laboratories - either clinical or AP. I used to be a sales rep for Quest Diagnostics, so it was a good fit for me.

Your dinner sounded yummy. I made sweet potatoes as a side on Sunday night, along with pork chops. The pork chops were the stuffed pork chops from Schwan's and I cannot recommend them. They were pretty yucky.
