Terrific Tuesday! What's cooking?

I have some chicken thighs thawing out. I will bake those and serve with rice and steamed broccoli (for DS) and sauteed spinach (me and DH).

I am in a serious rut! I was at Target on Sunday doing my grocery shopping and literally couldn't think of 5 things that I could make! That's sad.... I need to make a list of dinner thoughts, including who likes what, and keep it on my computer.

How do you get yourself out of a rut???

I think we are having baked chicken and steamed green beans, broccoli & spinach...just to mix it up a bit. I usually make scalloped potatoes with baked chicken, but I think in the spirit of healthier, we are going to skip that. If the girls complain about no carb, I will heat up a bag of frozen corn.

Kim, when I get into a food rut, I make sure I get back onto the weekly menus. I go to the store and get all the ingredients for my menu that week. That way I have it planned out and everything bought and ready. As long as I keep doing that (and I do fall off the wagon frequently!) it really helps.

I have steaks marninating in a mexican marinade. I am going to make some spanish rice to go along with them.

Kim to get myself out of a rut, I watch a few cooking shows for new ideas or when I really have no idea, I will go through the freezer, cabinets and refrigerator and grab a bunch of different things and do what they do on Chopped and make something out of what ever it was I took out. We have had some interesting dinners when I did that.

I am making turkey corn soup and will bake a blueberry bread.

I don't seem to get in a rut too often. Since I shop by stockpiling it seems that my freezer etc. is always full of foods. If I pull open enough drawers something always appeals to me and that is dinner! If not, I ask DH for a suggestion of something I haven't made in awhile. Works for us!

Thanks! I appreciate the ideas! I did start a list today of things that I make and will add to it as I think of others. I need to get out of this, though!
