What are the directions for this recipe? Baking time? Temperature? With the egg in the ingredients I figured you would bake them....it certainly looks very easy!

Easy Summer Salad

1 can lemon pie filling
1 can mixed tropical fruit, drained
1 can mandarin oranges, drained
1 can pineapple chunks, drained
1 c. mini marshmellows

Mix together the first four ingredients and chill. Just before serving gently fold in the marshmellows!

We had this at work the other night and I thought it was great! Very refreshing!

Yes, you DO bake them!

Mix the three ingredients, roll little balls, flatten slightly, fork design on them, and bake on parchment paper covered cookie sheets for 10-12 minutes (depends on the humidity around here - or oven quirky-ness) at 375. (you'll know the consistancy you like in a cookie)

When you take them out of the oven let them continue to sit on the cookie sheet for a minute or so (cooling somewhat) before you pull the parchment & cookies off to the counter top to cool completely.

This one kind of grows on you...I made it just because I had all the ingredients and brought it to a brunch and everyone was kind of wishy-washy at first about eating it but eventually the whole bowl was empty and there were only six of us!

Do you mix all 3 ingredients together and what temp and for how long do you bake for the chocolate cherry cake?

Re: Do you have a recipe that's so incredibly simple

I have made these for my sons and my grandchildren when they were little ones. They think I invented this, and I have never told them any different.

'Egg with a hat'

Take a slice of bread and cut a hole in center with a juice glass.

Put butter in fry pan, add slice of bread and the circle.

Add the egg in the hole. When toasted flip the egg and the circle.

When toasted put on plate and put the circle on top.

And there my friend, is your 'Egg with a hat'

Marinated flank steak

Mix 1 bottle of Italian dressing with 2 Tblspns of soy sauce. Marinate a flank steak in it overnight. Broil until brown on the outside and light pink in the middle.

Easy ice cream dessert

Unwrap 1 package of ice cream sanwiches ( the kind with the brown cookie on the outside and vanilla ice cream in the middle) and place them in the bottom of a 9x13 pan. Pour 1 jar of fudge ice cream topping over them. Spread with 1 container of Cool Whip. You can sprinkle any kind of embelishment that you like on top. I grate a frozen Hersheys bar over the Cool Whip. My friend sprinkles hers with crushed M&Ms. Have had it with chopped nuts on top. Cover the pan with foil and return it to the freezer until ready to serve.

I have a variation on some of the cakes that I have seen here. It is called a dump cake. Take 1 can of cherry pie filling and put in 13 X 9 pan spread out on bottom, then 1 can of crushed pineapple spread on top of cherries, then spread one box of yellow cake mix (any kind). Slice up 1 stick of butter and dot top of cake mix. Put in oven at 350 degrees for approximately 30-45 minutes (until top is nicely browned). My son hates canned pineapple but loves this. I always get asked for the recipe when I make this and its soooo easy.

that dump cake is awesome unicorn! I have some relatives that make that for every family reunion and it's delicious...I had never heard of a dump cake til I went to the first reunion years ago and someone made that one with cherry and pineapple and it was sooooooo good. I have made other dump cakes but that one is my favorite -

Easy Upside down Peach Cobbler

1 stick butter

1/2 cup milk
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1tsp baking powder

1 large can sliced peaches
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon

You melt the stick of butter in the bottom of your 9X13 baking dish
at 350degrees

mix together the milk. sugar and flour and baking powder

then pour over the butter evenly in bottom of pan,

then pour the can of sliced peaches over the batter mixture and sprinkle with the 1/2 cup of sugar and tsp of cinnamon,

bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour,
the crust rises to the top and this is a very great tasting cobbler and I love the ease of making it!

I have also done the same thing with cherry pie filling and it worked great

Italian sausage and peppers:

1 to 1 1/2 lbs of mild or hot italian sausage (fresh, in casing)

Put in bowl ( I used tupperware stack cooker large bowl) and either:#1 add 1 inch water, or #2, stack the colendar in (no water needed this way) cover, and cook on high for 7-8 minutes.

Drain water/and/or fat.
Slice sausgages into 4-6 inch slices. Put back into bowl.

Slice and add 2 green peppers (or add other colored peppers, I use whatever is on sale!)

Slice and add one large or two medium onions.

Finally, open and pour one 10 oz can of stewed tomatoes on top of everything.

Cover and cook for 15 minutes on high.

This is even BETTER than when I used to do it stove top style, all day long, with tomato paste and a bunch of seasonings, etc.

Today, to add to it, I used gonella bread buns, and I laid a slice of mozzarella cheese into the bun before I filled it with my sausage, peppers, onions and tomatos.

IT WAS THE MOST TENDER, TASTY sausage we've ever eaten! The skin even melted in your mouth!

tuppersweetie,
This sounds good. Do you drain the peaches? Also, approx. how many ounces is the can of peaches. Thanks!

Clam Linguine

Just get a can of chopped clams..Mix together with linguine(1/2-1lb), oil to coat pasta and add chopped onions (you can saute them or put them in as is depending on your tastes)..Top with parsley flakes for color..simple, but it must be the textures together which always makes it taste good..Add a little garllic toast on the side..Dish tastes better right after it is cooked..

Simple appetizer

Place the following three items on a toothpick after cuting them up in cube type pieces (need a jar of dill pickles, package of smokey links cooked, cheddar chesses)

dill pickle piece
smokey link piece
cheddar cheese cube

Weird combination but goes quickly..

Katrinka-

on the upside down cobbler,

I have used the small can like 15oz size?
or the larger can,

I like it best with more peaches in it so normally I put in 2 cans of regular 15oz size
or 1 big can like a 26-29oz

and do not drain, dump the peaches and juice into the pan

Re: Do you have a recipe that's so incredibly simple

I made the Peach Cobbler and added some blueberries from my stash from last years crop. I sprinkled them over the peaches, not a lot, just a few. It came out delicious, but it did turn purple. Thanks for recipe.

YUM!

I just made it and now I will have to keep myself away from the pan and let someone else have some! I confess that I've never had peach cobbler so I have no idea what it's suppose to look or taste like, and I thought I messed up because I used "lite" peaches instead of ones in heavy syrup, and the pan seemed a bit soupy. I let it sit about 15 minutes and it thickened a bit and just scooped some out and the liquid blended with the rest and it tastes very good! So I don't know if I did it right, but I like it! Thanks for the recipe!

Sounds right, If for some reason you don't like it as juicy you can also leave some out of the cobbler I just like all the extra, and it does thicken a bit after it has cooled off

Glad you like it, my family leaves no leftovers!!! LOL

Here are a few easy but good ones:

Seasoned Mushrooms

1 16 oz. package white mushrooms
1 package Good Seasons Italian Dressing Mix
1 stick butter

Clean mushrooms with a damp paper towel. Place in crock-pot with the dressing mix and butter. Cook on low for 2-4 hours.

Baked Vidalia Onions

one Vidalia onion per person
butter
beef bouillon cubes
salt and pepper

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Peel onions; remove 1/8” to 1/4” off of the top of each onion and create a cavity in the center of each large enough for the bouillon cube. Place cube in each cavity and cover the cube with butter. Wrap each onion in foil. Gather the foil at the top of the onion, twist the foil loosely so that steam can escape. Bake
for 25-30 minutes or until done.

Puerto Rican Style Pork Roast

1 (2 or 3 Lb.) Pork Roast
3 cloves garlic, peeled
Adobo seasoning
1/4 to 1/3 cup lemon juice

Make 3 slits in top of pork roast, Place a garlic clove in each. Sprinkle roast with Adobo seasoning. Pour lemon juice over top. Place in a roasting pan that has been sprayed with PAM and roast at 350 for 2-3 hours or till done.

Butter Pecan Pound Cake

1 box Betty Crocker Butter Pecan Cake Mix
1 small box instant coconut cream pudding mix
4 eggs
1 cup oil
Mix just until mixed together. Add 1 cup hot water (from tap). Mix until fluffy. Grease bundt pan well. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes.

My mom's goulash...I don't have actual measurements, we just kind of adjust according to how many it needs to feed....

slice smoked sausage, chop some green bell pepper. Brown sausage with bell peper. Cook and drain some elbow macaroni. Mix all together, add spaghetti sauce-we actually like this best with cheapo cans of traditional flavor Del Monte spaghetti sauce, but use whatever, homemade, jarred, whatever kind you want). Just make sure you put enough sauce in so it doesn't get dry. Heat through. This is good fresh, but even better as leftovers the next day!

This sounds very interesting. How do people react to this at first?

Easy Mexican Chili

Hamburger browned and drained

1 can of each
Black Beans (drained)
Beef Broth
Refried Beans
1 jar of salsa
I also add kidney beans
Put everything in a large pot and heat
Tastes like "next day" chili

If you like chicken use all of the above ingredients, substitute chicken for hamburger and chicken broth for beef broth

We also called the egg fried in the toast a "toad in the hole"

Cheesy Onions

Onions
margarine, about 1/4 to a 1/2 a stick, cut in pieces
cheese-I use velveeta- the more the better, cut in pieces

You can either slice onions and layer these ingredients, cover and place in oven at 350 until tender.

Or cut the onion in 4,6, or 8 pieces, but don't cut all the way to the bottom, so you kinda form a cup. Place in tin foil and then place cheese and margarine in the center. Wrap tightly and cook on grill, turning often until onion is soft.

I make a flank steak covered with stewed tomatoes that is so good ( secret - cook it in a cooking bag slow and low)
I've never used cooking bags. do you place the steak and the tomatoes inside the bag? How low and how slow do you cook it? I just picked up some Flank steak, and would love to try this. thanks

I'm not the OP of the recipe, but I've made the potatoes and have done it both ways--with skin and without. It is strictly a personal preference IMHO.

Easy appetizer

Everyone love these when I bring them to a party, and they are really easy to make

Raspberry Brie Phyllo cups

you buy the frozen phyllo cups at the grocery store
they are small little cups that you fill and bake

you put some brie cheese in each cup and bake according to package directions

remove from oven and top with a bit of raspberry preserves

then you can top with a few toasted slivered almonds.

they make a great presentation and taste delicious.

1 can pineapple (chunks or tidbits or crushed, your choice), drained
1 can mandarin oranges, drained
1 8 ounce tub Cool Whip
Flaked coconut or finely chopped pecans. Or both. What the hey!

Mix all ingredients together and serve.

My family also makes this ambrosia but instead of Cool Whip we use (and it sounds funny but it is so yummy!) a container of sour cream. And then we add mini marshmallows. Put in fridge to set up and the marshmallows get mushy. YUM!

We love this recipe

1 beef brisket
1 package dry onion soup mix
yellow mustard

Put the brisket in a crockpot and squirt yellow mustard all over the top of it and then sprinkle the dry onion soup mix over the top of the mustard - cook all day on low. This is very tender and delicious.

Orange Chicken

Make your plain white rice. Then brown some chicken (you can add onions, but nothing else). Throw some Orange conserve or orange marmalade on the chicken, turn down heat for about 5 minutes, add rice for another 5 minutes.

This looks and tastes like something fancy you would find in a restaurant. It takes about 20-30 minutes all together with cutting up the chicken and steaming the rice.

When I was a kid, my family used to make these when we grilled. They'd quarter the onions, though, then wrap in foil w/ other stuff and toss on hot coals while the meats cooked.

Someone on this forum last year posted a crockpot recipe that has made it into our regular rotation. The only change I made is to make it with Hot link as we like things a little spicier than the average bear. Here it is:

Easy Bean Chowder

2 cans Northern Beans
1 can Butter Beans
1 can potatoes, diced into small cubes
1 can carrots, diced into small cubes
I cup chicken broth (made with bullion, or base)
1 tsp minced onions
1/4 cup chopped celery (optional)
1 cup diced smoked sausage, ham, or kielbasa
salt and pepper to taste

I turn it to low and cook it all day. If it was a Saturday, I cooked it on
high for about 3 hours. When it was done, I served it over fried cornbread.
Sometimes, I had a nice cold bowl of cole slaw, the chowder and the slaw
paired well with the different textures

Thanks again to the original poster.

At a work party one year, a lady brought a delicious cold dip that was just a block of cream cheese and a jar of salsa mixed together.
Ooooh, I can't wait to try this.

So many good ideas in this thread.

Just 3 ingredients:

Meatball Stroganoff
healthy substitutions
1 pkg frozen pre-cooked meatballs (turkey or Bocca meatballs)
1 can cream of mushroom soup (“Healthy Request)
1 pkg broad noodles (Whole Wheat)

Pour soup into microwavable casserole dish; add about 1/3 soupcan of water; stir to combine.
Add frozen or thawed pre-cooked meatballs. Stir meatballs to combine with soup mixture.
Cover with waxed paper, microwave about 3 minutes or according to pkg directions; or till heated thru.

Meanwhile, boil noodles till done; drain. Add meatballs & soup mixture, stirring to combine
in large pot or Dutch oven.

NOTE: You could embellish this dish, if you prefer, by mixing in sour cream in place
of water & a dash of paprika to soup mixture, &/or adding snipped fresh Italian flat-leaf
parsley or onion or garlic powder.

This dish is great on it's own; & I would serve it as a company dish as well. Now you have
lots of time to make a fantastic dessert (i.e.pudding or ice cream parfaits) & a yummy salad.
Maybe even serve w some foccacia, baked rolls or garlic bread.

Here are two easy recipes in my kitchen

Iced Coffee

6-8 cups strong coffee (I like more because its too sweet otherwise)
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

Combine brewed coffee and sweetened condensed milk in a large pitcher.
Refrigerate until chilled.
Serve over ice.
TIP- Use leftover coffee to make coffee ice cubes with then you have the chill without watering it down.

Almond Roca

1 sleeve of saltine crackers
1 cup butter NOT margarine, won't work
1 cup brown sugar
1 package chocolate chips
1/2 - 1 cup chopped almonds

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cover a cookie sheet with foil and place crackers over surface, do not overlap. Combine butter & sugar and bring to a boil, approx 3 mins. Pour over crackers and bake about 5 minutes or until crackers "float". Remove from oven and top with chocolate chip and almonds. Chocolate will melt. Let Cool.

This is a great cake and so simple to make:

1 Box Butter Pecan Cake Mix - Betty Crocker
1 Can Coconut Pecan Icing
4 eggs
1 cup milk
2/3 cup of oil

Mix all the above together in bowl (yes you put the icing in the cake mix) and mix either with spoon or on low with mixer. Bake at 350 for approx 50 min (depending on your oven) in a bundt pan.

This cake doesn't really need icing on it but if you want a glaze you can use confectionary sugar with a little milk and dash of vanilla and drizzle on cake.

This cake is so sweet and moist

WHOA!! blast from the past here!
I thought this one had been erased when the powers that be revamped the site...

I loved this thread got so many great things from it!

Ok... Here's the quicky "food" gift I was amazed by this year.

It makes 64 one inch squares and is so simple....
Microwave 2 minutes, stir, Microwave another 2 minutes and pour in the pan to chill in fridge..
HOW EASY can it be!!

Peanut Butter Fudge
Recipe courtesy Alton Brown, Food TV Show: Good Eats
Episode: Fudge Factor

1 cup butter, plus more for greasing pan
1 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 pound powdered sugar

Microwave butter and peanut butter for 2 minutes on high. Stir and microwave on high for 2 more minutes. Add vanilla and powdered sugar to peanut butter mixture and stir to combine with a wooden spoon. Pour into a buttered 8 by 8-inch pan lined with waxed paper. Place a second piece of waxed paper on the surface of the fudge and refrigerate until cool. Cut into 1-inch pieces and store in an airtight container for up to a week.

Yummy!

Whao! This thread is way past the limit and hard to get through. Would you like me to combine these recipes and created a sticky for them? I can provide a link back to the original thread and we can begin a new one. What to you think? There are so many, I may have to do this in more than one sticky!

Whew! I think I got them all. Check out the sticky. I tried to divide them by category, but they are not alphabetic. I'll close this thread and you can open another if you like.

If we do another, it would be helpful to have a name for each recipe...or whatever you think to make it easy to surf through.
