Red face Do you have a recipe that's so incredibly simple

... that you are sometimes embarrassed to share your recipe when people rave about how good your dish is?

Well here's the good part... this is the internet and I won't tell anyone you know that you actually shared the recipe with me!

X

I make a flank steak covered with stewed tomatoes that is so good ( secret - cook it in a cooking bag slow and low)

Re: Do you have a recipe that's so incredibly simple

Hmm.
Let see.

I love taking wings or chicken parts and just dousing them with equal parts oil, terriyaki and baking until all of the liquid is absorbed and chicken skin is browned and crispy.

My hamburgers lol sounds silly but people just rave about Apriles famous hamburgers and all they are is ground beef, diced onions, garlic powder and ground black pepper mix it all together and make a patty and cook it.

I think it is the garlic and diced onions people are used to having onions on the outside of thier hamburgers not cooked in the hamburger who knows.

Mexi dip

Where ever I have taken this recipe, people always want the recipe. It is a bonus that it is so easy to make.

8oz softened cream cheese
8oz shredded cheddar cheese
8oz sour cream
taco seasonings... I use between 1/2 - 3/4 of the packet

mix all together. It is easier to dip chips in if it has sat out for a bit. I serve with tortilla chips and veggies.

quick desserts from another board

I copied these from a great post at another board. I have more if y'all are interested:

The mother of my HS boyfriend used to treat us to orange shakes. She put about 1/3 can frozen orange juice concentrate into blender w/vanilla ice cream. YUM!

Store-bought angel food cake frosted w/whipped topping blended with malted milk powder.

This is my simple party dessert. Make a pan of brownies from a mix. If you want, you can leave them plain or add peanut butter chips to them before baking. For icing, melt a cup of chocolate chips with a cup of creamy peanut butter in a small pan over medium low heat until the chocolate and peanut butter are combined. Pour over brownies, cover pan with foil and let cool on the counter. The icing is glossy and pretty and it tastes like a reese's peanut butter cup.

Buy a lemon angel food cake, make holes with a fork in the cake, pour lemon jello (made with the boiling water and cold water) into the holes. Refrigerate for a couple hours.
Optional: put a little Cool Whip on top.

Quarter some pears in a baking pan with plenty of apple cider, cinnamon, sugar, and butter. cover with foil and roast in the oven until nice and tender. (You can take off the foil at the end if you like.) Eat while hot, topped with cold whipped cream.

This one sounds really weird, but it is fabulous -- give it a try. Slice some strawberries, put them in a bowl, pour in enough balsamic vinegar (yes, I'm not kidding) to cover them, refrigerate for several hours. We serve this every Easter, and our skeptical guests always end up gushing over it.

Chocolate cookies (Mother's Brand has a chocolate cookie w/walnuts that works great, but one w/choc. chips is also good. Just not 'creme' cookie) Place a layer of cookies in the bottom of a bowl. Crumble up a couple of cookies f/the 'cracks' between cookies. Spread layer of Cool Whip over cookies. Repeat until cookies are used up...or the Cool whip...or until you have a full bowl (IMO, the more the better!) Cover w/plastic wrap & refrigerate overnight. You CAN freeze this a week or so if you use the proper bowl. Let thaw at room temp. approx. 1/2 hour before serving.

Bag of frozen raspberries (thaw as much as you'll need)
Breyer's Vanilla Ice Cream. Scoop ice cream into pretty dessert dishes and top with thawed raspberries. So easy, so good, so pretty!

Form several snowballs out of vanilla ice cream and roll them in coconut. Place on cookie sheet in freezer til ready to serve. Choose a pretty bowl, or I like to use a champagne stemmed glasses. Put one ball in each, and pour Creme de Menthe (which is emerald green) over it. Place a red cherry on top, if desired. I like to serve this after Christmas dinner with cookies. Easy, light and people will be impressed.

mix together a ONE STEP (we are talking Betty Crocker) angel food cake mix with an 18 oz. can crushed pineapple...juice and all. Dump into lazagna pan (8x13" I think) and bake at 350 for 35 min. Dust with powdered sugar if the spirit moves you.

Re: quick desserts from another board

hawkeyejla,

I'm curious about the flavor of the strawberries in the balsamic... what's it like?

We don't have balsamic in the house but I do have two pints of fresh strawberries I just got home from the store with...
Wondering if I need to have DH stop by the store on his way home!

Thanks for sharing those..
I have actually done the last one with the angel food cake and pineapple bits...I put in drops of red food coloring and baked little pink hearts for valentine's day...they were yummy!

I make this recipe and people can't believe how simple it is to make!!! I have NEVER told my DH how easy it is to make because I want him to think it takes a long time!!!

French Onion Soup Augratin

2 large onions, sliced thinly
2 cans Campbell's Beef Broth
2 pieces sliced French, toasted
Sliced or shredded cheese (mozzarella, or Provolone)

Take your onions and saute them in some butter or margarine until they are translucent and have "sweated" out their juices. (Basically cook them to death, but don't brown them! )

Then open the Beef Broth and put it in a large saucepan and add the onions to the saucepan and heat over medium-low heat until heated through.

Take your toasted bread and place them in your serving bowl with the cheese on top. Then divide your soup between the bowls and serve.

Serves 2.

NOTE: This simple recipe works ONLY with Campbell's brand of Beef Broth, I don't know why, but other brands just don't taste the same. You can add more onions or use less, depends on your taste.

My sister taught me to make this soup almost exactly the same way! Only she uses Campbell's Onion soup instead. It does taste like it takes a long time to do. Her hubby loves it too. And SHE lives in upstate NY too!

Re: Do you have a recipe that's so incredibly simple

Yes. For dinner sometimes I take a large roast and put it in the crockpot and pour a large jar of spaghetti sauce overtop and add a few spices like italian seasoning, garlic, salt and pepper and cook it all day. Turns out like a swiss steak almost. Sometimes we eat it on rolls like barbeque and sometimes we eat it just on a plate like swiss steak. Since it simmers in the sauce all day, its fork tender. Really good!

You can do this, but I take the easy way and just put the bread in the toaster, then in the bowls and then put the shredded chesse on top of the bread and then pour the soup over it.

I can NOT get my cheese to melt ever so delicately over the bowls like you get in the restaurant! I've tried and tried different methods using those little crocks and placing them under the broiler, but it just melts into the soup anyway, so I don't bother! Maybe I need to use more bread!!!

This is exactly what you need to do. The highest point of the bread should be in the middle of the crock, and it should be supporting the slice of cheese which also hangs a little bit over the sides of the crock, shredded won't work, so the top of the bread needs to be pretty much level with the top of the crock.

I make my French Onion Soup with homemade beef stock. A splash of dry sherry gives it the flavor I want in the broth, without a lot of the sodium I find in the canned broths.

I make a 4 ingredient sheperds pie that probably isn't truly sheperds pie, but that's what mom always called it.

1lb ground beef
1 package fresh mashed potatoes from the refrigerated case
1 can corn
1-2 cups shredded cheddar

Flatten ground beef into bottom of 8x8 square baking dish. Bake at 350 til done thru. Drain.

Top with entire package of mashed potatoes, then top that with entire can of drained corn. Put back in the oven til heated thru.

Top with 1-2 cups shredded cheddar (I use the whole 2 cup package - if you're not into cheese you can get away with one cup). Slide back in the oven til entirely melted.

Cool, cut, and serve. Makes 4 good sized portions.

I make a seafood spread for crackers. I take a couple of cans of crab meat, a container of cream cheese and some seafood sauce. Mix it up with an electric mixer to taste and it's delicious. Takes all of two minutes to make. Just don't use too much of the red seafood sauce because it'll make it too spicy tasting. Just add everything to taste.

I take a package of chicken parts or even just drumsticks, put them in the crockpot and pour a bottle of barbecue sauce over it, and cook on low all day. Everyone RAVES about how good it is - even my picky FIL! Takes all of about 2 minutes in the AM to get ready - my kind of meal!!

Great thread - I printed out a bunch of recipes to try out.

One of our appetizer recipes that everyone likes is to take a wheel of brie, top with a little brown sugar and sliced almonds. Wrap it in crescent dough. Bake per directions. Serve with crackers. Yum yum!

Mom's

'Hamburger Crumble'

like sloppy joes

1 lb hamburger browned with some diced onions, drain, add ketchup, dry mustard and sour cream. Mix well. Serve over rice, slice of bread or on hamburger rolls.

YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and, if you're careful on the ketchup, it's legal on Atkins's Diet!!

Itismesue.... I have made that also, but just put the block of cream cheese on a plate pour the cocktail sauce on top and add the crabmeat on the top. I will try to blend it all as sometimes people are not to sure how to eat mine even though I leave a small knife in it. Another variation is spread cream cheese in a quiche dish pour on cocktail sauce and add a couple of cans of tiny shrimp.

This is a quick dessert recipe of my mom's that I got published in Taste of Home's Quick Cooking a while back:

Take a large can of pears, with the juice, and dump it into a casserole dish. Sprinkle a package of blueberry muffin mix over the top, dot it with butter, and bake at about 400 until it's bubbly and the top is browned. SOOOO delicious.

At a work party one year, a lady brought a delicious cold dip that was just a block of cream cheese and a jar of salsa mixed together.

This sounds easy enough even for me

Have you tried it with any other fruit/muffin combination?

BTW, I just recently made the pineapple angelfood cake for the first time... loved it! So did my family; both my sis and sil asked for the recipe.

Quick Cherry Pie

Quick Cherry Pie

Simply grease a cake pan. Pour 2 cans of cherry pie filling into it and spread evenly. Then sprinkle a yellow cake mix dry over the top. Dot with margarine. Bake about 20 min. Serve over vanilla ice cream.

This is not eact as I don't have it written down. But this is so easy and tastes delicious.

I make an artichoke dip is incredibly simple and people rave over it:
  • Canned artichoke hearts (1 or 2, depending on amount desired - not the marinated kind)
  • Mayonnaise
  • diced jalapenos to taste (fresh or canned)
  • Freshly grated parmesan

I smash the artichoke hearts with a fork, mix in enough mayo until the texture is right, add several diced jalapeno rings to taste(I just use jarred) and add a bunch of parmesan, both mixed in and again on top. It can be heated in the oven or microwaved, and served with sliced baguette, crackers, or whatever you have on hand.

I tried it with fresh blackberries and the blueberry muffin mix once, it just didn't work LOL. Never got brave enough to mess with it after that.

I got this from the Heloise column

Quick Cinnamon Rolls

Take a tube of crescent rolls (or regular dinner rolls) open, flatten each roll a little, and spread generously with Heloise's cinnamon butter. Roll up and bake according to the directions on the tube (if using glass baking dish lower temp 25 degrees)
You can add nuts & raisins if you like.

Cinnamon butter

1/2 pound butter
3 tablespoons cinnamon
1/2 pound powdered sugar

Combine ingredients and mix well using an electric mixer. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I do the block of cream cheese with Jalapeno Jelly over it to serve with crackers (We like wheat thins). You can also put any gourmet jelly over it, we like ones with habanero peppers or horseradish in them.
Or tiny shrimp over the cream cheese then cocktail sauce.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
krayonne I make one almost just like that and serve it with tortilla chips.
1 15oz. can artichoke hearts, drained well and chopped
1 can diced chilis (mild or hot)
1 can water chestnuts, drained & chopped
1 cup parmesan cheese
1 cup real mayo
Heat in the microwave until hot and bubbly, stirring once or twice.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Got this recipe here and it's delicious ! My DH devoured a half one before I told him it was fat free LOL!
I do it in a glass 9x13 baking dish. I also spray in a little pam then wipe it out with a paper towel.
Spread a 20 oz. can of crushed pineapple on the bottom of the pan. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Then sprinkle a Betty Crocker angel food cake mix over that ( it must be one step kind)
Mix all together well, it will start to foam. Let set 20 minutes to rise. Bake in a preheated oven 20 to 25 minutes. Place on a wire rack to cool. When cool frost with a container of cool whip. (we like low fat ) Cover tightly and refrigerate until ready to serve.

BBQ's (or made rights, sloppy joes, loose meat sandwiches-I'm sure there are other names for these)
Brown hamburger with onion. Drain grease and mix in ketchup until right consistency for BBQ's.

Townhouse cracker spread with cream cheese and a piece of canned Salmon on top. My son sent me some really good salmon for Seattle and this idea was listed on the package. Didn't sound too good but tried it and we really like. Now buy canned red salmon and fix it often for a quick lunch with raw veggies.

Hamburger Casserole:
Lightly pat 1 to 1 1/2 lbs of ground chuck in bottom of casserole dish. sprinkle on some chopped onions, layer of sliced potatoes, layer of veggies ( sometimes I use mixed veggies or corn or green beans, use what your family likes ) and top with a can or two of Campbells Tomato Soup. You can adjust the amounts of ingredients, more or less potatoes, veggies, meat. Bake 350 for l 1/2 hrs. maybe more. Stick with sharp knife to see if potatoes are done.

This one is popular in the South and even Martha Stewart was wowed by it.

Just open a can of Bush's Baked Beans (I prefer the original flavor), fish out the bit of bacon fat (this will give it away if someone comes across it), decorate with a little precooked bacon and heat in microwave.

BTW, this is a GREAT thread...so many wonderful ideas. Keep it up, folks!

These are so easy. I got this recipe from a friend and make it whenever we have company stay overnight.

Easy Pecan Rolls

1/2 cup chopped nuts
18 frozen rhodes rolls
1 small package COOK N SERVE butterscotch pudding
1/2 cup melted butter or margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 tablespoon cinnamon

Put chopped nuts in the bottom of a greased bundt pan (or angel food pan with tin foil covering the bottom). Place the frozen rolls on top of nuts. Sprinkle the pudding mix on top.

Mix melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon and pour over top of rolls. Keep uncovered on counter over night or in a cold oven. Bake next morning at 350 for approx 30 minutes (start checking doneness at 20 min)

I buy cubed steaks and put them in the crock pot with stewed tomatoes over them. Simple and even my very picky son loves this.

Ya'll are sooooo good!!!
I have had so much fun reading the replies to this post! and by the number of views quite a few of you have too!

Keep them coming! My printer still has a little bit of ink left in it! hee hee!

I'm beginning to think my summer mantra is "4 ingredients or less" just to keep me out of the kitchen and more time in the yard playing!

Yeah, I'm a fraud too

I make candy baskets for about 45 families per year for christmas. I always do fudge (16 oz choc chips, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, vanilla: nuke the chips and milk, stir in vanilla and pour in 8x8 pan- good and fudgy, but not gaggingly sweet)

buckeyes (few ingredients- peanut butter, powdered sugar, butter, chocolate chips and parrafin- but time consuming)

cookie drops (thank you, taste of home! - a package of oreos and a regular size block of cream cheese. Crush the oreos, mix well with the cream cheese, chill, roll in balls and roll in whatever coating you want; sprinkles, cocoa, powdered sugar- be advised the powdery coating will be absorbed within a day or two.)
You can use any type of oreo (even those orange filled halloween ones, hint hint) and it doesn't change the color at all, 'course if you used the coffee flavored ones, you'd get mocha drops, hmmmmmmm

Smile Quick Fruit Tart

I got this recipe from my sister - it's really delicious on a hot, summer day!

1 c. sour cream (regular, lite, non-fat)
1 12 oz. container Cool Whip (regular, lite, non-fat)
1 pkg. instant vanilla pudding (regular, sugar-free)
assorted fresh fruit - I use blueberries, strawberries & kiwi
1 flan style cake (available in bread aisle/bakery section of grocery store)

Mix the sour cream and Cool Whip; add instant pudding and whisk together. Spread to the edges of the flan and top with fruits. Chill for best flavor.

The last time I made this, I couldn't find the flan cake, so I just used the individual shortcakes, like for strawberry shortcake. Also, you can just spoon the filling into a bowl and top it with fruit for an extra low calorie treat!

Ambrosia

1 can pineapple (chunks or tidbits or crushed, your choice), drained
1 can mandarin oranges, drained
1 8 ounce tub Cool Whip
Flaked coconut or finely chopped pecans. Or both. What the hey!

Mix all ingredients together and serve.

I also make chocolate chocolate chip pancakes.

1 cup pancake mix
1 Tablespoon sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
(I eyeball the sugar and cocoa, so I'm not sure of the actual amounts.)

Add water until batter is desired consistency. Add a handful of chocolate chips. Make pancakes as usual. When done, immediately remove from griddle and sprinkle with chocolate chips, and liberally sprinkle powdered sugar while warm. (It might also be good with finely chopped nuts, too.) Top with a dollop of Cool Whip, sprinkle again with powdered sugar, and enjoy your morning chocolate sugar rush!

At a work party one year, a lady brought a delicious cold dip that was just a block of cream cheese and a jar of salsa mixed together.
Does the blueberry muffin mix have to already have the blueberries in it? I have a box but the blueberries are in a can and the mix is separate.

I don't see why it wouldn't work! You could either mix the blueberries with the pears, or sprinkle them on the top and then the dry mix, or whatever you feel like doing.

This is one of our family recipes, too, except we use a tub of sour cream instead of the Cool Whip and add in mini marshmallows (white or colored) and use the flaked coconut. I love this!

Another quick and easy one when you have company for breakfast -- cinnamon rolls. Take a package of Grands biscuits and roll them in a plate that has cinnamon and sugar mixed together, also do the top and bottom of each biscuit. Cook per directions on package. Can't get easier than that!

Take 1 pound of boneless chicken breast and slice into 1/4 to 1/2 inch slices. Brown in a nonstick pan with 1 TBSP of olive oil. Add a 16 oz. jar of your favorite salsa. Cover and cook until the chicken is cooked (about 15 minutes). Serve in tortillas with lettuce, diced tomato, sour cream or any of your favorite toppings. Can also be served over rice. Just remember, when the salsa cooks cooks down, it gets hotter, so if you don't like really spicy food, buy a mild salsa. I use hot, because I really like hot food.

One Can of Diet Coke
One Chocolate or White Cake Mix

Mix together and bake. That's it! Use this all the time when I have something to go to. It's so moist. I have used icing on it when it comes out of the oven....yummy.

Re: Do you have a recipe that's so incredibly simple

Breakfast potatoes...the Lipton Secret way...

1 lb to 1.5 lbs. baking potatoes, cut into chuncks.
Toss with 1/3 C oil.
Mix in a package of Lipton's dry onion mix (comes in a package of 2).
Bake at 450 for 20 minutes...flip...bake 20 more.

My favorite potatoes under the sun!

SHHHHHHHHHH!

Okay this is nothing special, but my husband loves it...

I take one pkg cream cheese
1 can hormel chili

Mix in skillet

Serve with tortilla chips.

We also add cheddar cheese sometimes. You can play with spices. He loves this on a lazy Sunday night....

Re: Do you have a recipe that's so incredibly simple

These are supposed to be appetizers but I have them as a main dish. Very simple to make and delicious to eat. I made these at a recent block party and they were gone within minutes. Cut recipe down for a smaller group. You can also use a crock pot instead of the oven which is what I did for the block party.

Approx. 8 dozen frozen (already cooked) meatballs

Sauce
1 bottle hot or regular ketchup
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 jar [12 oz] apple jelly
1 jar [12 oz ] currant jelly

Combine ketchup and cornstarch in roasting pan. Stir in jellies; add the meatballs. Cover and bake for 30 minutes at 350. Yield: about 8 dozen.

I make something similar to this...only instead of salsa I use the Del Monte Mexican Stewed tomatoes. We have it on flour tortillias with shredded cheese. Very Easy and delicious!

I am having this tonight. First time trying it...

Balsamic Pork Chops
8 boneless pork chops, about 3/4-inch thick
12 ounces balsamic vinaigrette dressing

Place chops in a large resealable bag; pour vinaigrette dressing over. Seal bag and refrigerate for 2 to 24 hours.

Prepare medium-hot grill. Remove chops from marinade and pat dry. Discard remaining marinade. Grill chops directly over heat for about 8 to 10 minutes, turning once. Serve desired number of chops for dinner.

Wrap and refrigerate remaining chops for up to 3 days.

my son does not like sloppy joe mix so I take the cooked hamburger and add a can of tomato soup to the hamburg and he just lives it.

I also cook macaroni and add cooked hamburg and then add a can or 2 of tomato soup and stir it up ,the kids love this also and it is so easy.

They also love just having cooked hamburg on a piece of bread with just ketchup, folded into a sandwich

Here's a great last minute cookie recipe:

1/2 C. clear corn syrup-I use Karo
1/2 C. white granulated sugar
1 C. creamy peanut butter
2 C. Rice Krispies cereal

In a heavy saucepan bring the karo and sugar to a boil, stirring constantly. As soon as it starts to boil, remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter until the mixture is smooth. Add the cereal and stir until well coated. Drop by spoonfuls on wax paper or a greased cookie sheet and let set until cool. Store tightly covered.

Quick and easy and everyone likes them.

My favorite chicken recipe and I ALWAYS get asked for the recipe.

Preheat your oven to 500.

Wash and dry a whole chicken (I usually use about a 4 pound chicken), after removing the stuff in the cavity. Rub inside and out with sea salt.

Turn down the oven to 425 and cook the chicken until the juices run clear (usually about an hour and 15 minutes). I usually cook mine in a cast iron skillet. If you don't use too much salt, you can use the juices for a gravy and you don't have to dirty another pan.

This chicken comes out unbelievably tender inside and brown and crispy on the outside.

I cook chicken breast in my crockpot covered with salsa and the family loves it. If we have lots of leftovers I add a can of vegall and some tomato juice and make soup for the next day served over tortilla chips with a dollop of sourcream and cheese on top. Looks great and tastes great.

Crockpot Roast and Orange Chicken

Oh my, I just posted my recipe for crockpot roast over on the Household Tip board under drain cleaning, lol. We were talking about using soda and vinegar to clean drains and I had suggested using left over pickle juice (zero cost!) instead of vinegar. Anyway...

Crockpot Pickled Roast

Put an inexpensive beef roast into a crockpot, add a large quartered onion, pour in about a cup or more to taste of pickle juice (leftover juice from a jar of pickles, pickled vegetables, or jalepenos), pepper to taste, and water. Don't add salt as the pickle juice contains enough already. Cook as you normally would. Nooo, it doesn't taste like pickles but does have a slight different taste and the pickle juice helps tenderize the beef. It's may favorite winter comfort dish.

Orange Chicken

Flashback to the 70's! Lay chicken pieces in a greased baking dish, in a single layer. Mix together an envelope of Onion Soup Mix and a 6 oz. container of frozen concentrated orange juice (not reconstituted). Pour over chicken and bake until chicken is done.

After chicken is done, I usually use the pan juices as a gravy for mashed potatoes.

Another great dessert recipe that is sooooo simple...Begin with a pizza crust, add one can of pie filling and top with a mixture of 1/4c. melted butter, 1/3c. flour, 3T. white sugar, 1T. brown sugar and some cinnamon. Put on top of pie filling and bake @350* until done and drizzle with glaze. I sometimes make 1/2 cherry and 1/2 apple. Everyone loves this and it's easy to make or take some where. Enjoy!!

I put a pork roast in the crock pot and dump a can of rotel and a can of diced chilies over it and cook it on low all day until it shreds easily. Serve it with tortillas, sour cream and avocados. Delicious!

snicker salad

My friend makes this awesome snicker salad. All it is, is granny smith apples cut into chunks, snicker bars cut into chunks mixed with cool whip. It is always the first thing to go.

Yep, at the senior adult meetings I help at, they call this a caramel apple salad, and you are right - the bowl is always empty.

Regarding the cake and soda, my cousin camps a lot, and she takes a can of Diet Mtn Dew and a white cake mix. She bakes hers in a greased bundt pan then sprinkles powdered sugar all over it. I've had it, it is really refreshing.

Potato Burgers
Grate a raw potato into ground beef before forming into patties.
Cook as usual.
Very juicy and tasty!

Do you peel the apples first? Also, is it about half and half apple chunks and snicker chunks and then just enough cool whip to coat? I had some snickers and cool whip so I tried a small batch for a snack using some McIntosh apples I already had but they just weren't tart at all so it didn't turn out that good. But I'll try it again once I get the granny smith.

Here is my recipe, don't peel the apples, the color adds 'eye appeal'.

snicker salad
4 granny smith apples, washed, and cubed
4 snickers bars, sliced
1 3 oz box instant vanilla pudding
1 cup cold milk
3/4 of 8oz. tub of cool whip

beat pudding and milk. Mix in cool whip, apples and candy bar pieces. chill and serve. Once all I had was french vanilla pudding, and used that. It is good, and turns into a pretty light yellow color.

Cover bottom of 8x8 pan with cooked and drained ground hambuger, add on can of drained corn, small can of tomato sauce, and cover with mashed potatoes. Bake until heated through. You can make this up the day before. I usually serve it with a salad for an easy meal.

Pour One large can a peaches in a 9x13 cake pan, sprinkle one spice cake mix over the top and bake according to direction on box.

Slice cumcuber and onions, sprinkle with salt. Let set in fridge for an hour or longer, rinse salt off and pour in Cumcumber Ranch dressing, and mix to coat everything. (This is great for picnics).

Make Betty Crocker Suddenly pasta salad Rach and Bacon according to directions. Add chopped tomatos and green peppers (gives it some crunch).

Cook pork chops in skillet, add 1 can crream of mushroom soup and simmer. Use the mushroom soup as gravy.

Easiest Broccoli Cheese soup
heat
1 can cream of Broccoli soup
1 can milk
velveta cheese to taste (the more cheese the better)

My orange chicken "cheat" lol...

Put chicken in a baking pan, pour a whole jar of orange marmalade over the chicken and cook til done and "sticky". GREAT orange chicken and so easy!

Easy Meatball Subs...

Mix burger with bread crumbs and egg, form into balls.
Add meatballs to jar spagheti sauce in a big pot. Cook on low for 30 min. til meatballs are cooked. Put on sub rolls and top with mozzerella cheese. I serve with a garden salad.

Hi,
when I made it I just cut the apples up ( no peeling) I used 6 apples to 12 candy bars but there are no tried and true rules,
good luck

My Mom's
brown 1 lb hamburg (sometimes she used pre-cooked chicken)in a skillet & drain grease
add sliced squash (she used to use yellow & zucini?)
sliced potatoes
can of stewed tomatos
jar of sauce
Simmer until potatoes and squash are cooked.
Can add other vegetables (fresh or frozen)in the last few minutes of cooking.
This was a great big hit in our family. Mom used to make this with the fresh vegetables from the garden. My kids, who usually turn their noses up to vegetables, really love it.

One of the favorites around here is Boston Burgers....it's a cross between chili and sloppy joes:

1 lb. ground chuck
1 large can baked beans (we like Bush's Original Baked Beans)
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1 envelope chili seasoning

Brown and drain the ground chuck, add the other ingredients and simmer. Serve over open hamburger buns, sprinkle with shredded cheese.

Heath Bar cake

DELICIOUS!!!

Bake a german chocolate cake mix as directed,
after you take out of the oven poke with holes and pour 1 can sweetend condensed milk,
then
pour 1 bottle of smuckers caramel ice cream topping
cool then frost with 1 tub of cool whip and sprinkle chopped up heath bar pieces on the top...
makes a SUPER DUPER MOIST CAKE!!!!

I always have people wanting that recipe

my family goes nuts and its soooooo easy!

I take my tupperware microwave cooker
put a layer of cooked bowtie pasta in,
cover with spaghetti sauce,
layer with cottage cheese and mozzerella
then top with mozzerella cheese and cook in the microwave for only 6 minutes!
They think I have worked really really hard to get this made TASTES SOOOOOOO YUMMMY!
I can come home from work and still have way enough time to put it together and toast some garlic bread to go with it

Garlic Chicken

1 1/2 lbs Chicken breasts cut into strips
flour
butter
1 HEAD of garlic, remove skin and chop up
2 cans chicken boullion or eqivalent to 2 Cups

Add about 1/4 C butter to pan and on med heat LIGHTLY brown garlic. Remove garlic from pan.

Add more butter, about 1/2 C and while it's melting, flour each chicken strip and add to the pan. Cook till done, lightly brown on both sides, remove chicken strips as they become done.

When all chicken is done, add back all pieces of chicken and the chicken broth. Stir well scraping bottom of pan. Bring to boil, then drop heat to low till the flour on the browned chicken thickens the bouillon into a gravy.

Serve over rice or potatoes.
