Brats in beer
potato salad
coleslaw
toying with a light dessert

possibly, since it's really cold, rainy and windy, a small portion of Marie Callendar's potato cheese soup

amber
CO

With CHEESE so high ( $3/6oz), I have to rethink.. we are HUGE cheese eaters.

Well, dinner for dh and I depends on if we are in the eating mood, we weren't last night. Our beloved black lab suffered either a stroke or had a seizure yesterday. Dh took her to the vets last night and they kept her overnight for observation. They are running blood tests today so I'm anxiously waiting to hear from dh. They did say she seemed to be ok (and may be able to come home today) but wanted to run the tests to rule out a few things. As far as the girls are concerned, they can have whatever they decide on.

Janenga....sorry to hear about your baby! Keep us updated!

We are having chili and corn bread. Easy stuff since I have to work today and if I'm lucky - dh will start cooking since he gets home before I do!

Janenga--so sorry to hear about your dog! I hope that everything turns out ok.

We're having baked custard style macaroni and cheese, sauteed squash and zucchini, and sliced tomato.

Janenga, my childhood dog had epilepsy! He had a few nasty seizures and then he was put on medication for the rest of his life. A pill a day and he was fine and his old lovable self again! Keep us informed and I hope all is well.

Dd's old friend come over from England to visit so they had a playdate here today. They had a blast! I made the usual playdate favorite....

Homemade Chicken Nuggets
Smiley Fries
Cucumber sticks

DH and I had leftovers....

Lentil Soup and white rice for me
Macaroni and Meat Sauce for him

of course, we both picked at those nuggets!

Boston Butt in the crockpot all day cooking, finally got it pulled apart for BBQ tonight, Cole Slaw, Baked Beans, and either Scalloped Potatoes or Pasta Salad, haven't decided yet.

Thanks everyone. Talked to dh a bit ago and I guess she can come home today but they do want to run an EKG on her sometime (after she has a wart type thing removed from her head). I still don't know the results of the tests they did run but I guess as long as she gets to come home, the tests must have come back ok.

Janenga, I hope your dog is ok. At least she is getting to come home, that's good news.

Tonight we're having chicken sandwiches and french fries. Another quicky, easy meal for me, lol.

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes for my 'baby'. She was very happy to come home yesterday. But she has to go back tomorrow morning for surgery, she has a couple of growths on her head and they want to remove them but first they have to do an EKG and chest x-rays to make sure she can handle the surgery. They didn't know why her leg(s) gave out, thinking maybe it's just arthritis. (she is 14) They did say too that if she does have the surgery they will more than likely put her on medication for the rest of her life, BUT at least we still have her. I am NOT ready to give her up yet.
