Thursdays Dinner Menu

I made a stock pot of Beef Barley Vegetable Soup yesterday so we are having that.
I also made White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies yesterday during my Once a Month Cooking Day so Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting or the cookies are for dessert.
I am opting for slices of nice fresh fruit cut in chunks leaving the desserts behind before their calories go to my behind.

Dh comes home tonight from AZ, but won't be home until 8pm-ish....so it's just the girls and I for dinner again. I'm sure they will want their Kid's Cuisine dinners......and for me? Well......I don't know. Maybe some leftovers from last night's dinner. Or maybe a Schwann's chicken pot pie, I think there is one left in the freezer.

We're finishing up the last of the turkey from Sunday. I'm making a turkey pot pie.

Never made the herbed chicken parmesan - went out to dinner with my 4 free meal tickets at our local Mexican food place - paid $1.99 for all 5 of us to eat!

I never get to go out to eat so it was quite a treat - we even went to the library for free family fun night and saw a clown act with magic! I was feelng quite thrifty!

Thursday nights are my "kitchen closed - fend for yourself - or something easy" night
so we're having a version of Laura7055's Cheesy Potato soup she posted in that other thread. (I'm using my crockpot)
and we'll have a piping hot loaf of crusty bread on the side to dip with!
Dessert - saw something at Walmart today and wanted to try it.. It's a two serving size of Pumpkin Spice cake with Cream Cheese icing... couldn't resist!

The kids are having chicken sandwiches and chilled fruit. cookies for dessert.

Whew.. is it time for CSI yet?----

I got a call at 1:00 that we're having another house showing at 5:00 tonight. It's too cold to take the kids out of the house so I put the crockpot on high to try out the same Cheesy Potato soup. I printed out the recipe the other day! I was going to make it for tomorrow's dinner, but I really don't want to have the kitchen a mess when potential buyers visit. I think I'll serve it with mushroom & green chile quesadillas. DS & DD will have nuggets, corn, & green beans.

Leftover spaghetti here. DH went to happy hour with some guys from work, so I'm just heating it up for me.

Hope you all had great days!

We had KFC tonight. My kids actually ate when they came home from school, guess they were starving. But then about 30 minutes ago they were hungry again and ate a lunchable. Maybe they're growing, lol!

We had a 5PM showing tonight, too. Doesn't that just throw a wrench into the evening? Our "lookers" didn't leave until 6:03, I kept driving by anxiously waiting for them to leave. I had my turkey pot pie in the oven smelling awesome - hopefully it smelled homey and inviting!!

Since it was just DH and I (boys are off snowboarding, finally!), we had breakfast for dinner.

Bacon, mushroom and tomato omelettes
Wheat toast

Lisa---

We ended up having two showings between 5:00 and 6:00. I'd love to be able to be out of the house for every showing, but I have 2 young kids and it was dinner time for them. This makes 4 showings this week. It makes me happy that potential buyers want to see the house, but it sure can be inconvenient at times! I was pleased that these people all commented that dinner smelled good!

I've never heard of Tilapia made this way before, do you mind to share? It sounds good.
