Just got a Reynolds Handi-Vac, now what?

I've been wanting something like this for so long, I got a Food Saver a few years ago on Freecycle, but the bags were so expensive. A lovely friend of mine bought the Reynolds as a gift.

I haven't even opened it yet, I have no idea what to do with it. I'm used to using the divided platters for all of my leftovers.

Does anyone have it or use it? I'd love for you to share your ideas with me.

I want one catt. Esp for all the fruits and veggies we use so they won't go bad. I'd also use it to put casseroles and leftovers in and freeze.

I saw a demo at the store. She was doing cheese
She said it was good to use for meat and leftovers.

I thought that meat would be good because I hate that freezer burn.

I've been using mine for about 2 months. I mainly use it for freezing meat and poultry but I have also used it to keep my mushrooms fresher for a longer period of time in the fridge. I froze some asparagus using this and it's amazing that they are still so green and no wrinkles! (maybe if they come up with an xxxxxlarge bag, I can put myself in there and forgo the wrinkles!).

Sometimes sucking out the air can be frustrating because for some reason I just don't have it in the 'perfect' spot so that it doesn't suck the air out. When that happens, I look for something small and sweet to eat...savor it while I calm down...and then go back and try again. (it usually works )
