Well, so far, I've made my grocery list, placed the order, and had PeaPod deliver them. And that would be the sum total of my effort...LOL. I don't know....Thanksgiving always seems relatively easy, but then again we don't have a lot of company or anything like that.cj/

I've made my grocery list and put my frozen bread heels out to dry. So far, that's it. Oh, and bought my turkey. It's in the fridge. Lisa

Well ... I really don't want to make you all feel bad, but we are going to the in-laws for Thanksgiving this year (they only live a few miles away). I'm making the green bean casserole. I bought all the ingredients tonight for a quadruple batch and will probably put it together Wednesday night. Then I'll cook it Thursday morning, put it in one of those Pyrex insulated bags, and just show up at noon with my veggies and sit down to a great meal!

I went to the grocery store today. We go to the in laws on Thursday - I'm just taking the cranberry sauce. But Friday we have my family over - however, it has dwindled to just 8 people - the 4 of us, my brother & his wife & my parents. Not difficult at all - but no one helps me except DH helps with the dishes. Last year I was SO mad! My brother & dad were bringing me dirty dessert plates before the dinner dishes were cleaned up! I told DH I'm putting away the desserts this year - no one gets any dessert until everything in cleaned up. Lisa

I am home today and this is the plan- clean dining room ( I was hoping to wash the windows too but it is pouring out here) set up extra table and chairs. Also drag out the turkey roaster and set-up. Make and refrigerate the sausage stuffing and the glazed carrots. Hopefully DH will make his butternut squash today too. Clean silverware. Iron table cloths. Make final shopping list and send DH to store. If I have time, I would like to set up a couple of Christmas decorations- at least the garland/lights/stockings on the stair case. Edited to add I will also drag out all serving pieces and label the bottom with what will be served on it.

All I have done so far is the turkey is in the fridge. But I have most of the groceries on hand already, going to pick up the last few things I need today on my lunch hour. Tomorrow night after work I'll make dh's triple berry pie and get things all set for the morning. I think I'm going to surprise dh with a breakfast of sausage gravy and biscuits, eggs and sausage for the girls. Then I'll get the turkey cooking and all the sides ready to cook. Just the 4 of us so I can even stay in my jammies all day!

Turkey is defrosting, and so are the blackberries (pie). Today I will take out the shrimp and whole cranberries to defrost. I want to start baking, but think it may still be too early. I need to make a berry pie and pumpkin pie. And homemade cranberry sauce.

Let's see..... I've planned the menu Made the Invites Reorganized the Pantry Cleaned the Fridge out Cleaned the house at large Decorated house for Fall + two Christmas trees Clipped coupons Made the Grocery list Shopped three stores for groceries Laundered the table linens we use Prepped the buffet servers we use Got out the aprons and chef's hats for the kids Drawn names for the kids cooking assignments (one had breads, one has sides, one has desserts) Baked one cake already Made the homemade chex mix we snack on while we're cooking Today I started thawing the turkey Today I am going back to the store for things I didn't know I was so low on or wanted fresh on.. (vanilla extract, fresh poultry seasoning herbs, bananas) Late tonight we'll make the brine so it has time to cool back to skinny dippin' temp for the bird in by tomorrow morning. Makes the house smell sooooo good! ![]() Is it Turkey time yet? ![]() Remember to think of the blessing, not the stressing! We all have much to be thankful for this year! Happy Holidays to All, X

Have a great day. I have it somewhat easy this year (Yea!). We’re spending Thanksgiving at DH’s grandparents with 20 or so relatives/friends. We’ve been asked to bring the wines, fruit/cheese platters, baked/roasted olives, marinated mushrooms/chilies/olives/cheese, shrimp rolls, vegetable wontons, cheese grapes, baked Brie/apples, Greek/Italian cheese straws, spicy/sweet roasted nuts and pumpkin seeds. DH purchased the wine a few days ago. I have the mushrooms, chilies, olives and cheese marinating and will bake the cheese straws and roast the nuts/seeds tomorrow. I’ll prepare the rest Thanksgiving day. I hope everyone has a very safe and “Happy Holiday”.

I miss hosting a Thanksgiving dinner. Once again this year it's just me and the husband and the pets. I made my lists and will be shopping on Wednesday. Not too much to do for two people.
